Monster Speaker Cables

I have to agree. Plus, it does not take $3000.00 cables to make a component sound better (I’m talking most people’s systems, not the ultra expensive $100,000 + systems---thats a world I have no experience in).

I find that Power cables make a big difference. I upgraded my First WATT and PS Audio power cables to ZU Event’s. The positiveresults were due of a more quiet noise floor hat the new cables provided.. I felt more of the "sound" was not being held back due to whatever electrical interference that was happening in my particular room. Sounds seem to come out of NOWHERE vs a slight faint hiss/buzz. I can only imagine what a dedicated, conditioned direct power line could do.

Unfortunately, Monster cables lack the more current design approaches and are not capable of making any components sound significantly better

But well designed cables will provide a significant boost, even to those box store components, since today’s box store components actually perform much better than most people believe.

E.G. years ago I purchased a $300 mini system

• the bass was blosted and not well defined
• imaging was non existent
• details were distorted
• adding good a power cable and speaker cables fixed all of those issues and now it performs way above it’s modest price point

Even simply adding a very good power cable to my Bluesound Pulse Mini Speaker had the salesperson at the store wondering what I had done.

Bottom line: regardless of the component, box store or high end hifi, well designed cables can make a significant imrpovement

Personally, I build my own cales from sratch, but if DIY is NOT your thing, then try

• Audio Envy
• Zavfino
• Hijiri - for those high end audiophile components

I thought Bruce Brisson (MIT CABLES) designed the early high end Monster cables like the M2.2's, etc. 

Monster Cables are fine for box store components, but for high-end audio there are much better sonic affordable cable choices like Audio Envy.

+ 1 for Audio Envy 

it's a 10awg cable made of good copper... should be great!  It's the connections I would be worried about.  They are probably made of metal that is not as conductive as copper.  Bare is best.

15 years should be about right for the OP to figure out what to do about speaker cables

@denman - take a look at Audio Envy and Zavfino cables - they will provide much better performance and overall better bang for the buck.

You’ll prpobably never look at another cable after trying either of those brands.

Audio Envy is a little more affordable, but still uses great construction methods/materials, resulting is a very high performing cable

Both are better than the Kimber 8tc

I'd be curious to see what's inside the round thingy's at each end of the M2,.2's. I've always heard they are actually nice cables

I have 2.2s and they work great in my system.

sound stage is huge and precise.

Good cable, just doesn't have the snob factor as with other brands.

I use Monster 2.4s with my Krell & Infinity equipment(FPB300cx, KCT & Rannaisaince 90 speakers) & they work very well. Extremely clear sounding with good strong bass. I have thought about trying the Anti's as noted above just for the heck of it but I havn't done so yet. I've used other big $ cables and ended up going back to the Monsters. They work very well for me.
Note: The 2.4s are basically the same animal as the 2.2s, just with bi-wire capability.

Try Anti-cables on your Vandy's.. I use them with my 5A's with great success.
