Meitner Ma1 Not Powering Up

I've enjoyed this DAC for about 4 years now...I sat down to listen tonight and nada - dead as a door nail....no lights...no response to other chords...nothing.

Any ideas or guidance?

Thanks!

Opened it up - the fuse was toast.  The fuse is a T2AL250V - there were none of these available anywhere locally, so I got a T2A250V - roached both in beautiful arc flashes.

I've ordered the specific fuse type and expect delivery on Monday.

Hoping this solves the problem and there isn't something else downstream in the power supply.

Fuses sometimes located inside the chassis. Normally upon replacement of the bad fuse you will have another bad fuse after you try to turn it back on, but that’s just small risk of testing equipment.

Next step would be testing power supply...

as @fuzztone mentioned 4 years is LARGE nowdays when everything else usually works for few months before failing

Are you looking for a fuse in a separate holder?  Now most fuses are integrated into the socket where the power cord plugs in and not obvious if you don't know what you're looking for.  If you already know this please don't be offended.

add https:// to the front of that.

About halfway down, the fuse is clearly shown on the board after the AC input receptacle on the rear of the unit.

:)

I'd give Meitner a call or email. Sometimes dealers can do something simple like a fuse swap.

@bearotti , everything has a fuse in it somewhere along the power path.

Most likely it is on the inside of the case where the AC cord connects.

Hopefully that gets you started.....

I wish there was a fuse on the back of the unit like so many other products, as I would have already done this...if I could find a service manual to know if there even is a fuse inside that'd be nice 🤷‍♂️
