MC601 power output

Hello all,

I have a pair of MC601s and they seem to be putting out different levels of power compared to one another. Swaped left and right inputs and one side still putting out less power?

Is this normal?

Cheers.

More than 3db?  Not unusual for big amps to have quite a bit of difference. Is it audible?

Like Russ69 said is there a audible difference? I have McIntosh 462 and I noticed a difference on the left channel turned out to be a faulty cable and it showed on the meter,so I guess you could say it was a power issue to.

No gain controls on MC601.

Not an audible difference but a visual one. The meters.

Run a mono signal to both amps and they should read the same.  If they don’t, the meter may need calibrating.  We’re the monoblocks purchased new or used?

Make sure to switch both to balance XLR or RCA inputs

there’s a switch buttons at the back

Tried all that stuff. Still an issue.

Will take them in and get them calibrated.

Thanks for all the replies,

When you changed inputs was it same channel or same amp putting out less power?

Same amp. Going in for calibration. No difference in sound. And the meter on the  amp showing higher power output did not go to zero at rest.
