It ought to be for that price!
@dolfan - I’m currently considering a new USB cable to use with an Innuos reclocker. Could you share a bit more about your impressions of the Mad Scientist Prime USB cable? What were the areas of improvement in your system compared to the other cables you mentioned? |
Haven’t tried the Mad Scientist USB but just completed a comparison of several USB cables against my current AQ Diamond - Nordost Tyr 2, Audience FrontRow, Stealth. I used each cable for a period of 48-72hrs to make certain everything including my ears had settled. I read a lot of good things about the Mad Scientist cable but decided to plsynit safe and not risk it with the Mad Scientist given its price and pain of shipping it back in the event it doesn’t gel here. Enjoy your new cable! @bluethinker put Stealth on your list. |
@audphile1 - Thanks for your recommendation on the Stealth USB. I'd made a mental note, from an older forum post, that you impressed with the Front Row USB cable. I'll do more research on the Stealth cable. It looks like they are made in the USA, correct? |
@bluethinker yes Stealth is made in MD. |
@audphile1 I’m having a similar issue with my Aurender N200 and Audience frontRow USB cable. It’s like it’s too detailed and there is sensory overload; a digital glare. Find with this combination that I have to turn down the volume to get rid of that etched sound and listening fatigue with headaches. And it’s not the Aurender. Do you still use the Stealth USB; is it the standard non-tunable version (without the tunable collar)? How is that working out for you with your N200? Thanks. |
