Looking for a low priced preamp (used)

To match with my DNA 1 amp. I've heard schitt is good and reasonably priced...but will it pair well with my amp and my Martin Logan CLS 2Z's?

TIA

Hey guys, thanks for all of your responses. Definitely looking for a warmer sounding pre to soften my tiled environment and the brighter sound of the CLS’s.

Will look at all of the suggestions.

Consider the Schiit Saga S.

May be slightly warm, if anything like the Asgard.

Audio by Van Alstine preamps are reasonably priced.

Aric Audio makes several tube preamps at several price points. All reasonable.

My advice, buy the Schiit Freya+, try it in your system as it's the only way you will know if it's good, and if you don't like it return it. See Schiit policy below: 😎

Freya+ is covered by a 5-year limited warranty that covers parts and labor. One exception: the tubes. Those we cover for 3 months. And if you don’t like your Freya, you can send it back for a refund, minus 5% restocking fee, within 15 days of receiving it.

Same brand TLC1 preamp cheap and straight to the business I found recently one on my local CL used and was thinking about getting it for just $450

I'm using the Robert Grodinsky Research RGR-4 as my main preamp. List price $650. I bought mine used on eBay for $200. Sonically competitive with any of today's expensive - and overpriced! - preamps. Mr. Grodinsky was a talented engineer whose main business was the company RG Dynamics for the pro audio market. His first preamp was the RG Dimension 3. That evolved into the RGR-4. I have many preamps - both tube and transistor - in my collection. Yet I choose to use this one!
