Is this a meaningful upgrade? I own both the Bifrost, and the Yggy. I can tell you the Yggy is a meaningful upgrade.
Organ music, your system, and an old German I can relate to that. Organ music, especially the Pipe Organ, is underappreciated. It can put your speakers to the test with those lower frequencies. We have a classical radio station here in the Chicago area, WFMT. It has on occasion a segmen...
Billie MK3 Pre order and Price!! $7 per hour in the late 1970’s is equal to $36 per hour today. ? More like North of $100/hr. @ a Dealership, and North of $75/hr. for an independent mechanic. hilde45 has some good suggestions.
Billie MK3 Pre order and Price!! Then don’t buy anything if prices are too high. As if the Billie MK3 is the only Integrated available. Like I have pointed out, many good alternatives out there, at lower prices.
Enjoying the Original Music Streaming Format - Analog FM Stereo Same here. I live in the Chicago suburbs. We have here WFMT - Classical, and WDCB - Jazz. Enjoying the reception with a Sony 730ES, Yamaha T-85, and a Sansui TU 710.
Billie MK3 Pre order and Price!! Do you really think 2800.00 is too much? Yes, it is! The origional and MK2 was around $2K. Maybe you want to pay cheap receiver prices for quality audio? What a silly question! There are good Integrateds from Rogue Audio, Schiit, Rega, ...
Should I buy a seperate dac? Save your money. For a first time DAC, I would recommend one above 2K. Any less, one will always want something better up the line, eventually.
Entry Level Tube Integrated Amps "Entry level"? No such thing. Maybe lower priced, or affordable. One way to approach this, buy the best you can afford plus a little more - meaning save a little extra. Consider buying something you may not want to upgrade latter on, which gets...
VTL Pre tube roll…or suggestions on 12AU7s You`ll probably void the warranty using any tube other than what the manufacture recommends. If you`re not satisfied with the sound you have, it`s either you swipe the tubes or get another preamp. I think it is rare that any mishap will occur usin...
Help me find my ideal Stereo Integrated Amp Hey, there are some here who cannot appreciate the helpful suggestions given, and should stay out of this thread.
Reliability - what’s your experience been? Amps, Preamps, and Speakers. The most reliable. CD players the least. Spoke with a Hi End repair tech, he told me CD players have the highest failure rates vs Tape Decks and Turntables.
Help me find my ideal Stereo Integrated Amp Check out what Naim offers. I think it may be the Uniti line.
3 tone control integrated amp/preamp gkelly +1 A 3-tone control integrated amp/preamp is nonexistent. Can`t do better than a Loki, or an equalizer, anyway.
Upgrading a Rega Saturn-R For the price you pay, the Saturn-R CDP will be hard to beat. You may be better off using it as a transport, with an outboard DAC. Or, if the laser is going out, buy a Transport and one of the great modern DACs available.
Newbie, first time tube rolling. It does not matter where you have the input selector. That is for choosing your listening source.- it does not turn on/off those tubes. The only time no current is going through those tubes, in phono stage, is when you have the preamp turned off, ... |
