Lector 603 CD player

How did you like the Lector 603 CD player? I'm thinking of the ZXT integrated amplifier as well. Can you let me know where you bought yours from? I can't find any dealers. Send me a private message if you can't respond here about it. Thanks. 

Took the plunge with a Lector 603 ( dealers demo so well priced).

Totally amazing sound; voices in particular sound so very real.

Very nice silver disc spinners , they major on tone and texture delivering a large and harmonically rich soundstage. Think of them as a player that might even appeal to even Vinyl only guys

Back in the day ~ 20 years ago, I had a Lector preamp custom ordered with XLR output stage to compliment my all tube system. They commented that it sounded better. Overtime, I eliminated all tubes.

Yes, great reviews.  A bit pricey.  I have a dealer willing to sell a Lector at demo pricing.  But no return policy.

How about the EAR Acute Classic?  Another CDP with tubes.

I haven’t done comparison listening, but I’ve heard both in systems at a store that pretty much only uses Lector and Audio Note as CD sources.  They get a lot of trade-ins, and it is surprising how disappointing some “hot” items are, at least in the store’s particular systems.  The latest Luxman SACD/CD player is a recent example—it sounded thin and analytical.

I have heard Lector players but not sure which models but they sound fantastic just as Larry describes.

How does the 603 compare to its bigger brother?

I have heard it, and its big brother, and I like what I heard.  These are players that do well mimicking the sound of analogue sources--smooth, relaxed sound, but still quite dynamic and lively.  I have been impressed with both their digital electronics and their phono stages.
