I'm thinking about purchasing a Luxman D-08 SACD/CD Player

Has anyone had any experiences with this player?

I have D06 and D05u, but never had the chance to hear the D08.  I know, not much help, and not an answer.  But, I love both of my players, each in a different system, and they are magical.  I think, anyway.
I have the d08 - the model before the USB was added

hasn’t missed a beat in 5 years

undid the bottom cover: an incredible disc drive assembly  with a build quality that makes accuphase look like toys-r-us

sound quality  is exceptional
Check out whitecamaross thread in amps/preamps where he sells/replaces a top of the line Esoteric K1 Grandioso with the Luxman D-08u and his comments on why he did what he did (you will have scroll to find the post, there are 1000s of posts in the thread).
That should give you all you need.
Also check out the AudioSharks forum as well.  Do a search for Luxman and you'll see the posting about it. Needless to say the guy seems prettyhappy with it.
If you do get one please keep us posted. The D-08u is a lust piece for me.
I recently heard from my Luxman distributor that he received an email from Luxman saying that they are discontinuing all SACD players.

Can anyone confirm this?
@essrand - I just contacted Jeff Sigmund of Luxman of America.   His words " Not true. I can tell you with 100% certainty that Luxman will support SACD beyond current generation"
To the OP.  The D-08U is an excellent SACD player.   I have owned the Esoteric K-01X and have compared both. The Luxman is much smoother and engaging.

I have owned the D-06U and I think it is the sweet spot for Luxman spinners in terms of value.

Have you had a chance to compare the D-06u vs an Esoteric K-03?The D-06u is just a bit more in reach than the K-03, but I was wondering if their in the same league musically.
Thanks
@cmach - yes, I have owned the K-03X as well.  D-06u  is a better player IMO.   The Esoteric can be a bit edgy sometimes.
@greginnh

That is strange. My distributor claims to have gotten a formal email from Luxman to that effect. I heard someone else in one of forums say something similar (heard from a dealer).

There isn't a reason why he should mislead since I asked him for pricing on a D-08u with some intentions of placing an order.

Maybe it is a country-based thing. And in the USA it will still be supported.
@greginnh Used to live in San Francisco until a year ago, now in India for a bit.

BTW have you ever had a chance to compare Luxman DA-06u to the Bricasti M1SE, I am trying to decide between one of these two.

It would be perfect if Luxman came up with a streaming DAC sometime soon, the DA-06 is quite old now.

@essrand  I have not compared the Luxman DAC to the Bricasti M1SE. I am coincidentally trying the M1SE right now.  It is very nice.

None of these models are being made any longer so if your going to buy a NEW one you better make up your mind and grab one now while supplies last.
Yeah, since posting I've found that out! Hopefully, Luxman will bring out a new range.

I'll bet anybody they aren't going to offer 3 new CD/SACD Players at different levels. Some people might wish they had picked up the 05/06 when they are still available and affordable.
Besides the 05u, 06u and 08u, there are also the D-380 and the D-N150, which are newer and in a different series.  They are listed as "new" on the Luxman website.  I doubt that these are being discontinued.

I would be happy to see a Luxman product with preamp | DAC | streaming. Something like the Simaudio 390 or Linn Selekt.
