Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
lewm 12,693 posts 07-16-2024 at 02:08pm No RIAA correction?   Yes, though probably best left out of this thread judging by some of the comments made by others over simply removing offset.. :) Rgds, Paul
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm
Another Viv protagonist here; it certainly appears that conventional thinking and experimentation was incomplete. One may apply the same to headshell, phono cartridge, phono amplifier.  Imagine this, no offset, no anti skate, no rigid bearing, a ...
SAEC WE 506/30 incoming. Anybody here with any experience with this arm?
R,Sorry, I'm not sure what your agenda is but ViV Labs are sold in the UK by Definitive Audio / Living Voice, it seems that you may be getting confused..!
SAEC WE 506/30 incoming. Anybody here with any experience with this arm?
R,Perhaps you misunderstood my post, I encourage tkr to experiment for best results, using whatever geometry sounds best to his ears.To my ears with 40yrs analogue experience, the straight, zero offset ViV Labs RF9 tonearm sounds better than any o...
SAEC WE 506/30 incoming. Anybody here with any experience with this arm?
tkr,Good to hear you have and are enjoying the WE506, it certainly is quite a statement on any TT, both visually and of course sonically. It is worth some experimentation of the set up, you may actually prefer the Stevenson alignment after all, my...
SAEC WE 506/30 incoming. Anybody here with any experience with this arm?
I have just seen this thread, and have used WE506/30 for several years now. As you now know it does require around 4 degrees extra twist in the headshell. We sell a laser engraved template for this if you need one..https://zaxisaudio.com/wp-conten...
Aidas Cartridge
Robert Levi reviewed the top of the Aidas line (Mammoth Gold)  just before Xmas, link below..We have one on order! https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/aidas-mammoth-gold-phono-cartridge/
Has anyone here restored a Sony TTS 8000 platter or a similar strobed platter
I have to disagree with the comment above that the TTS 8000 is not worth the effort to make it look nice, clearly you have not heard one well enough set up as they can beat so many TT's around, vintage or modern. I use mine daily, and never think ...
Glue choices for making the Garrard 301 plinth
Original Titebond is excellent, been using it for 25+ years, 2k Resin (Prefere 4152) or West System epoxy for truly difficult materials. These 3 do 98% of all our bonding, I reccomend the Titebond in this case.Real hide glue (Scotch / Pearl) is no...
Aidas Cartridge
Svenhoek19, I just sent you a message re Aidas pricing.
Why do Cyrus get such praise from What HiFi???
^^By funding the publication along with other manufacturers, without them the magazine will cease to exist and people will lose their jobs. The high street magazine sector is in huge decline and has been for years now, I don’t imagine many titles ...
DAW vs Alexia 1 vs Sasha 2, descending order of $$
Quoting gochurchgo above:i got to also hear those giant Alexxia 2’s driven by stacks of Naim gear and it sounded bad.   I still cant believe it. I can believe it, and would not attribute this to the Wilson's, rather they very clearly highlight the...
Aidas Cartridge
To add, Christian Punter @ Hifi Advice reviewed both the PanzerHolz and the Rainbow https://www.hifi-advice.com/blog/review/analog-reviews/analog-source-reviews/vira-aidas-rainbow-mc-c...This is our PanzerHolz Diamond:https://zaxisaudio.com/portfo...
Aidas Cartridge
I use the Aidas PanzerHolz, and have several other carts but the Aidas is simply fantastic, so much so that I just never even think about carts any longer. It beats ART9 by huge margin, also MY Sonic Eminent BE considerably, being far more open, d...
