That's impossible to say. They could sit for months or sell on the first day if seen by the right buyer. I am going to make a guess and say that most lookers on this site aren't shopping for Definitive Technology speakers though.

It’s hard to say, there are several factors like your asking price, demand for your model, etc.


You may consider selling locally if you are new to this type thing. Packing, shipping, and dealing with collection issues can be a hassle.  

Facebook marketplace and Craigslist are pretty effective platforms for local sales. Of course, take reasonable precautions. Some sellers/buyers will insist on meeting at a public place. 

The majority of the products listed on here are higher end products.

Thanks for all the replies.  Luckily the speakers sold within 12 hours of posting at Facebook market place.  

I sold mine in 7 seconds on Ebay.

I sold mine before I listed it on Audio Asylum.

have you considered US Audiomart? It reminds me of the "old" Audiogon....I've sold many items at USAudiomart.

I have SM45s I am selling. IT takes as long as it takes. I'm in no hurry.

About 7.27 days on a def average time line

For a frequently bought/sold item like these speakers, you can get a pretty good sense of “how long?” by visiting HiFiShark, entering make and model, and tabbing over to “Sold/Expired” results. That will provide you with your best collection of comparables and include info on where sold, for how much, and in how long.

This is also a good method to use on the buy side when the seller is asking 18 million dollars and you’re able to say, “no, the last dozen have sold for an average of $227. The other one listed for 18 million dollars has been for sale for a decade.”

P.S. Why so many daft responses in this thread? This is actually a legit question/issue if you actually give it some thought.
