FIdelity Cables or Virtual Dynamics

Simple question: should I buy the newer Rick Schultz High FIdelity Cables (speakers, interco and etc.)  or stick with the older Virtual Dynamics Revelation series?

That is a question only you can answer.  Your system will tell you what it likes and simply trust your ears.  Likewise, you may find the cost may not justify the sound improvement, again, something only you can answer.

That's what I’ve heard about HF as well. I'd be staying clear of this company from all the reports online.

thank you all for answer. I also read that HF is out of business...... but tehy cables are awesome...

I used VD David speaker cables and XLRs for a number of years, and was very happy with them. They are stiff, but can be molded to adapt to different spaces.

I bought them used, and for a reasonable price, and would be inclined to do so again if the HF cables are far more expensive.

I use VD Master, David, Power One & Three powercords throughout my rig and I just acquired a set of the Master Series speaker cables. Very excited to see what they bring to the system!

I’m looking at the master speaker and would like to know what you think of yours?

Rick is still building and designing new and better cables even better then his HFC stuff, I own many of them and there outstanding.

I absolutely love them! For me, they are my end-game speaker cables. Fantastic dynamics, depth and clarity while being completely non-offensive. Just be aware that they are extremely ridged, Mine are around 13ft and getting them to curve around my rig was challenging. If you are considering a short run then placement might be an issue. Not easy to find either so don’t hesitate. Easy flip if you don’t dig em.

I've owned Virtual dynamics Revelation, Genesis and top of the line Exodus the Genesis is the sweet spot for me.. back then.

Also had the HFC  interconnects and all the power conditioners another step forward.

Ricks new line RSA (Rick Schultz Audio) is better yet all the virtues of the High Fidelity Cables BUT more musical/engaging.. start with the Illumination and go from there, very impressive, Just one Apparition power cord  in "my" system brought a major jump in everything. only comment took a bit of break in - settling but well worth it. I highly doubt you would not be impressed.

Rick Shultz is still making cables in Canada and they are very good. I Have purchased speaker cables, interconnects and power cord from him since he closed High Fidelity and moved to Canada. All have been great transactions with no problems.

I have owned Virtual Dynamics, High Fidelity, and Rick Schultz Audio cables and all are among the best I have heard.  In fact, now owning RSA cables, they are as good or better than those from his earlier companies.  Rick now operates out of Canada and it takes some time for them to ship to the USA but his Illumination power cord line outperforms all but the most expensive HFC cables (read:  Ultimate Reference Helix and Professional lines).  Now he has developed an ethernet cable product said to be his best product yet although I have yet to hear it.

That is a question only you can answer.

+1 @spatialking

We cannot tell you what sonic changes will happen within your own audio chain + room conditions.

We cannot tell you if the change is worth purchasing - we each have different budgets and commitments to this hobby
