Connections

Hello.
I have a bit of a brain freeze when it comes to connections. My dilemma is the correct cable order (connections) to use the DAC in my  Marantz DVP-S9000ES SACD/CD/DVD player. I want to list my components:

Blusound Node (which has ARC, RCA, Sub Out, Analog In, Toslink in)

Marantz 2226 B Receiver (I want to attach the CD PLAYER); it has some U-connects I need to pull out, like MAIN IN).

Then, my Marantz AMP (145 WPC), with AUX IN… just a 2- channel straight amp.

THE BLUESOUND NODE, has a decent DAC, but I think the Marantz DAC may be better? Anyone have any suggestions? My MARANTZ Amp connects BALANCED OUT to RCA INTO the NODE, which operates everything. So, from my understanding, the only reason to include the integrated Marantz 2226 B, would be to integrate my Marantz CD player, which can also integrate easily via Mini analog plug, into my Bluesound Node.
Thank you

Use the preamp OUT of the 2226B into the Marantz power amp. Connect the RCA analog out jacks of the S9000ES to the AUX jacks of the 2226B. Connect the RCA analog OUT jacks of the Node to the TAPE jacks of the 2226B. This way everything. will run through and be controlled by the 2226B's volume/source controls.

Thanks very much. The NODE remote or the ARC on my Apple TV controls volume currently… equally… will your suggested book ups continue to do that? Just maybe adjust 2226 B volume tow SET POSITION?

im hoping (3) TONE controls on the 2226b work as well?

That's a Sony Model #, did you make a typo?

Think of connections like the flow of water....out from the source....and finally into the loudspeakers. Out and in.....

If by U-connector you mean little U-shaped pieces of metal connecting two pairs of RCA sockets, you don't want to mess with them unless you know what you're doing.  They connect the preamp and poweramp sections within your receiver.

You should have plenty of regular "in" and "out" connections on the back.  If you don't have a manual, try looking for one on-line.

There are no digital inputs on the DVP-S9000ES.

A true dilemma. If you wanna try a DAC you need one.

I have a DAC in the Node, but I was hoping the 9000ES’ is better?

if I go through the node, I only get the sound of its’ DAC, And then wonder why I bought the Sony cd player if indeed it does not improve sound from my existing multiple Denon CD player.

The DAC in the 9000ES is at least 15 years old.  I owned one and also the SCD777ES.  At the time, the 777ES sounded better.  By todays standards, the DAC in the Node is probably much better.

Pull out the two u-shaped jumpers on the 2226B so it can be used as a preamp with volume and selector controls. Tone controls will still work. This way you can use the Marantz amp to power your speakers.
