Are you still using any HFC cables/cords Calvin?
Surely the Clarity Cable cannot be better than Tara Labs, can it? ;^)
It's not easy find out much information about these cables, like what type of conductors are they using? Copper? Silver? Gold? Hybrid? Liquid metal? Magnetic Conduction? Stranded? Solid core? Foils? Ribbons?
Enjoy the music!

I still do use high fidelity. I use the interconnects on my CD player and I sometimes use the mc6 power conditioner |
I don't know the intricate details of them. I just know that they have a very musical quality to them. I like my highs extended and airy. I like my upper midrange open and my lower midrange full and this cable sounds great in my set up. I don't over analyze when I'm listening to them.

calvinj, you have good ears, if I say so myself! Congrats! You have found one of the cables I consider to be among the very best. Clarity has been used in my system for six years following my review. It has bested sets up to $50K. |
I'm very happy with clarity cable. I have it all through my system except the speaker cables right now. I use atlas mavros for that right now. Clarity does its best work in the airy extended highs and a nice full lower midrange that works wonders for my instrument heavy jazz.
|
@douglas_schroeder I'm glad to know that. You have a choice to have any cable you want just about and you chose clarity cable. Also to know that it has stayed in place for 6 years is saying a lot. It's an excellent performer all around. It's not crazy expensive compared to a lot of cables I have seen!

By the way Calvin I met Chris and Melissa founder of Clarity cables very very knowledgeable and nice humble couple, someday looking forward to audition their cables....Bon |
Great I've heard they were great. I like when the people are nice and they take pride in hobby. Rick at High fidelity cables was the same way. Great product and personable. Makes you proud to own. |
calvinj-
which brand(s) of cabling did you own/use in your system prior to the Clarity Cable? |
douglas_ Schroeder-
I know that you have great ears and even better gear. Which $50K cabling did the Clarity Cable best?
Happy Listening! |
MIT Oracle series. I no longer recommend any passively networked cables.
|
I used high fidelity. I actually still use the ultimate interconnects when I use my CD player as my source.

TY- calvinj
both the M.I.T. and HF cabling has been on my must -demo list for awhile now.
|
I like high fidelity. Highly transparent. Quick

Jafant try the Reveal first let us know what you think? |
Iam sure clarity are good too, I trust Doug... |
They are very good; I was a previous owner of both SC and IC.
Wig |
Have to agree with Wig....though will throw in an extra very. Beautifully voiced IC that hits all the right buttons. The SC is tremendous as well...highly recommended. Taras TEO Audio |
Gives a nice full sound silky highs and open midrange. |
Do they make these cables in 20 amp version? Just ordered a PS Audio P20 and need to change to 20 amp cable. I already have a dedicated 20 amp circuit with appropriate 20 amp outlet. Thanks in advance.
|
It was a while back that I reviewed the wonderful Clarity Cable Vortex Power Cord. Yes, they made them in 20A version.
|
Doug,
Do you have a link to your review of the clarity cables? Are they still in use in your system today? If not, what did you replace them with, and would you sell the clarities if you still have them? Thank you.
|
audioquest4life, I sent you a PM. |
audioquest4life, I cannot post links here, as it seems to be a violation of the reviewer agreement for participation on this site. I find that interesting, given that it seems manufacturers and distributors have posted links, at least in my recollection.
In brief, I requested continuing use of the Clarity Cables after the review; that was in 2011. I still use them the most in all systems. I still haven't found any cable that I have returned to as repeatedly as Clarity Cable. I have used them in dozens of reviews and personal systems. I also have used them often introduced into a system with cables that have a niggling problem. They are the single most beneficial cable brand I have used. I do not care if Clarity Cable uses these comments for their promotion, as this is authentically my experience.
If they did not perform admirably over time they would have been long gone. Even if I have privilege of ongoing use for review purposes, I do not hold on to equipment and cables that I do not care for the sound of, or that have been outdone by other products. In that respect I am distinct from many reviewers who are willing to accept products as their "reference" even though compromised, because they can use them for free.
Of the dozens of cables I have handled in the many years in this hobby, and reviewing for 13, the Clarity Cables strike my ears as fundamentally correct. That is so for all their wares, power cords, interconnects, speaker cables, and USB cable. I continue to try different cables over time, but the Clarity Cables remain.
Of course, you should not anticipate that the pricing indicated in the review from 2011 would still be in effect.

Doug,
Thank you. That’s a testament to the performance of those cables, especially since you seem to gravitate back to them in all of your reviews. BTW, I liked your review of the Pureaudio Project Classic Trio speakers. Excellent write up. |
audioquest4life, thank you for the complement. I put a lot of time into my reviews. I try to make them worthwhile reading in terms of tips for enhancement for the owner.
My room is a "perform or die" environment. If a product does not hold it's spot in terms of earning its keep, it's gone.
My latest article is also an OB speaker, the Tri-Art Series B 5 Open, along with other Tri-Art components and cables. FYI, as nice as the Tri-Art cables are for the system cost, I replaced them with the Clarity Cables as an upgrade to the sound. The Tri-Art cables are very suitable to the system, but as with all systems, enhancements can be made.
The Clarity Cables may be the longest held product I have.

I feel is time to chime in on the Clarity Cable "Vortex" power cable. I received the cable a little more than week ago and feel confident after 275'hrs or so letting it settle in on my PS Audio Dectet replacing an PS Audio AC12 I just can't get over on just how flat out outstanding it sounds. I wanted to take my setup to the next level and a revisit to powercables is my place to start. I tried two of Shunyata's cables first Venom NR10 and then the Delta NR both of which are fine cables but not for me, my next cable to try out was going to be the AQ Thunder but the Vortex for the lack of a better word has ended my search dead in its tracks with a more than peaked interest in the other offerings.
I'm not sure how this cable is not on the very top of anyone's list to demo! |
jdub39, "I'm not sure how this cable is not on the very top of anyone's list to demo!" I think some have tried them and didn't like them. I'm sure there are some that will never consider them because they don't cost enough. I've been guilty of overlooking components due to cost, but not anymore.
|
This was hands down the toughest cable to purchase do the lack of feedback and the few you can find as far as I could was just praise. I'm glad as well to be seasoned just enough to not overlook due to price as well. |
I told y’all! It’s the best! To me competes with the mega $1000 buck cords.
|
I have tried over 25 brands. Clarity best hands down. |
Looking forward to adding more, that's for sure. |
J dub my experience for the best sound was all clarity cables the atlas mavros speaker cables. Great mix. Let me know if I can help with clarity. I sell them |
