Audience Cables

Back in the day there used to be a lot fewer cable manufacturers. Audioquest, Siltech, Cardas, Kimber. Monster etc. Less than a dozen I believe, including my small Music Metre company. . Now it seems ole there are a couple hundred people making cables. Makes choosing difficult not to mention even knowing where to start. When I got back into two channel during COVID jail time I didnt know what to do about cables, I had long since given away and sold my Music Metre cables but luckily I got a good recommendation to start with Audience Ohno cables. These were extremely good for the money, Ohno continuous cast conductors and had a nice natural sound. Recently I had an opportunity to upgrade to Audience Studio Two and Studio One cables. Both had the effect of raising my musical enjoyment and made a definite improvement. Expensive yes, but not as much as a lot of cables and remember you are paying for improvement in sound not pounds of aluminum in a box. Something for consideration. As for cable deniers, remember the saying, "Better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are ignorant than opening your mouth and proving it".

Hi Ken. That's a wise decision to stop looking. I did it too after getting Wywires Diamond. Yes, there are better cables, but that's it for me. I will need funds for better NOS tubes, anyway.

HI @inna , I have not heard either of those.  I am sure there are plenty that are amazing.  I am trying not to find another one!  :) Ken

I’ve happily had an AR-6 Adept for years, but never tried their cables. I’m currently using mostly AQ stuff. I know it’s subjective, but do you think it would be worth my while to try Audience cables? Is so, power or speaker cables first?

Thanks.

fastfreight, Kubala Sosna cables are excellent. Have you ever tried Echole and Stage 4 cables ? I have not, too expensive even used.

Hello @inna !  Yes Elation are at another level.  But what is not fair is the way I can not ‘unhear’ things!  :).   They are so much better (to me).  I acquired my cables over time, many used.   The AU 24 SX were  easy to sell.  Not a huge difference, considering the upgrade. With Realization out, (yes better) Elation can be found and I think is the sweet spot in the K-S line.

Me still using the 24SE ic and have their power conditioner till now, is great cables

I tried several manufacturers cables when first looking to upgrade.  I settled on Audience AU 24SX and gradually acquired a full loom.  I thought they were great.  Then my dealer swapped in a pair of Kubala Sosna Elation speaker cables.

Wow.  much fuller yet still just as resolving and smooth.  I now have all Kubala Sosna Elation and Realization.

Yeah, recently saw an ad of some Norway made cables. They claim almost magic. For the cost of apartment in Norway Far North. I think, there are now thousands of cable brands. Never tried Audience, though heard many positive feedbacks.

@fredcdobbs

I actually think that there were quite a few more than you mentioned, even way back then, but now it's ridiculous! Every week there's a new brand. Two days ago on this forum, someone asked for a recommendation. and a member suggested Pine Tree Audio cables. I thought that they were something new and obscure because I had never heard of them, and then two other members jumped in and agreed with the recommendation. I guess it's because they are so much easier to make and ship than speakers and electronics.

Anyway, I know that Audience is a very well respected brand.

Audience is a solid company…their Power Conditioners and Cables offerings are among the industry’s best. I used to own full loom of Audience Au24SE. No frills cables that renders music beautifully with minimal coloration.
