Anyone using an external streamer with a Bricasti M12 or M21?

Curious if anyone has decided to use an external streamer with their Bricasti DAC instead of using the built-in network capability?

I also installed the MDx board in my Bricasti DAC- an M1. All I can say is mama mia- run, don’t walk, do it, if you’ve got the $700 to spare at the moment

I use my Aurender N10 Music Server with my Bricasti M21 DAC. I listen to Qobuz Streaming for their outstanding sound quality. My stored CD albums also sound excellent. The Aurender Conductor App (free) is very easy to use. It is easy to switch between my stored CD’s, Tidal Streaming, Qobuz and Internet radio (listen to the Radio Paradise station at 320kbps). The Aurender Conductor App "turns the iPad into a versatile user interface for Aurender Music Server/Players". All settings and functions of the Aurender Server/Music Player can be easily accessed through the Settings menu.

The App provides various sort options for handling your stored CD’s. The Aurender Conductor App enables me to quickly find the album I want and play it.

To be honest I prefer the DAC to its job and the music server/streamer to do its job. I know the Bricasti M21 DAC can connect to my computer but I prefer using the Aurender Conductor App. Its features make managing, viewing and playing my music collection a breeze using both stored CD alums and Qobuz streaming.

BTW, I just installed the Bricasti MDx upgrade board on my M21. My system sounds clearer, smoother, more engaging with more musical details. I like it very much and recommend the $700 board upgrade.

The M21 is definitely not RoonReady, while the M1 and M12 are.  Not sure on the new M3 units, though.

The M12 (doesn't mention the M21) is on the Roon Ready list, and Roon correctly puts its picture on my screen. Bricasti site is not updated too often.

I'm using Roon exclusively, and the M21 is not a certified device.  While it works, I don't have the same level of control over the M21 volume like I would if it were certified.
Looking at things like the Auralic and Lumin devices, they offer screens showing track data, cover art, etc.  They also have more options for DSD, etc.
Exploring the options...
