Does it melt on the tubes? I had some tube dampers that melted onto the tubes, couldn’t ever get the gunk off.
A simple tube hack
Tube dampers are a pain: on the one hand they tighten up the sound, on the other they take the life out of the music. By experimenting I found an interesting alternative for signal and rectifier tubes: Form a 1/2‘‘ ball of blue tack and place it on top of the tubes by gently pressing it down. I think you will be pleased with the result: gone are the false reverb sounds and clarity reigns supreme
