I need a little help from a UK, German, Greek or Israel member.
I've had a look at that site. The site itself looks legitimate but it is essentially a private adverts site, so any individual transaction is down to the trustworthiness of the specific seller.
Need help: Tannoy or B&W?
Neither - without knowing the rest of the system.
Enough is Enough
@OP Any sensible dealer will never dis a customer's system, so I would just go somewhere else. Nice system BTW.
Audio Desk cleaner.....still available?
The Degritter is a much better machine than the Audiodesk - much better design and operating system and its cleaning performance is excellent.
Bose buys McIntosh
It's funny that car manufacturers are all over high end companies to secure audio system marketing kudos, but the presence of those brands in the auto sector doesn't seem to be having the effect of enticing the owners of those cars to buy high end...
Tonearm paralysis by analysis

300B Tube Amps with 15/16 Watts Per Channel?
Ref atmasphere's post. It depends on how much distortion one is willing to tolerate. An SE amp with a pair of 300Bs will not put out 15 watts @1%thd.
More potential bad news for some big names...
The Masimo brands will be on the block in the next few months if not sooner now that Masimo is controlled by Politan. As with McIntosh and SF, any company that is controlled by private equity. It's a question of when rather than if. There is a f...
Speaker cables with good timbre
@OP The Van den Hul 3T cables do what you want.
Faint buzz in speakers
OP. From your updated description, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the amp - its just regular residual noise. Forget about it and enjoy the music!
Faint buzz in speakers
@OP Some amplifiers have small amounts of residual noise thought it should usually manifest itself as white noise, but there can be other noise as well. It is also possible that one or more of your noise reduction devices are causing the noise - i...
Borresen X3 measurements
Ribbon tweeters and cone drivers generally prove difficult to match seamlessly. By way of example, I always preferred the soft dome tweeter ProAc's to their ribbon tweeter equivalents. Borresen make a big thing of their crossovers not having phase...
Is Rega the easiest turntable to set up....
@OP. Make sure you like the sound of Rega's cartridges as not everyone does. With all due respect I'm not sure that looking for a five minute setup is the best way to spend that amount of money. Any competent dealer will set up the turntable for y...
A Turntable History Question
I can't recall anything that was on sale in the UK at that time that used rubber band suspension. The Hi Fi Choice turntables booklet edited by Martin Colloms covered pretty much everything that was around including exotica like the Trio 7d and, wo...
Thoughts/Opinions on Technics SL-G700M2 CD/SACD Player
I can only comment on the original version and agree with the post above. The operating system is a bit clunky but fine if you read the manual and not an issue if only playing CDs. Build quality was outstanding - I would say the best in its price ...
