Ultimate Turntable search...OMA K5 or ?
@OP Even though in principle, you don't want belt drive, I would not rule out the Dohmann Helix One Mk 3. While not strictly on topic, regardless of the choice of TT, the choice of arm is going to be a pretty major factor too.
Why do people like reel to reel players?
I had an R2R machine in my studio but one thing that would have really bothered me for playback in a hi fi system is the noise tape makes banging off the reels as it  spools from one to the other. And you do need 15ips for proper quality. Lastly, ...
Anyone listen to Music on a FM tuner anymore?
@jasonbourne71 - how do you turn it of if you are asleep? :)) On topic, my Revox B760 tuner died a couple of years ago so now I am using my Meridian 204. That's in my kitchen system. I also listen to a Meridian 101 with a pair of active M2s when ...
Why "bookshelf" sspeakers?
The term bookshelf speaker is now an anachronism in a hi-fi context. Even back in the day there were plenty of "bookshelf" speakers that were never designed to be used close to a wall  -e.g. LS 3/5a's etc.

Well the beauty of that layout certainly won't do any harm to the way it sounds :))

Nice work!
Speaker for 11x12 room
@OP, the best placement is what you propose - speakers firing down the room towards the wall where you propose to have the piano. You will still benefit from a curtain on the glass door. You will get some reflections off the piano so it it can go ...
Wilson Audio Duette / Custom Crossover Upgrade
@Jim 2 - No problem. I really do look forward to hearing how you get on with the redesigned crossover.
Wilson Audio Duette / Custom Crossover Upgrade
Steady on there OP. John Atkinson measured them in-room and was quite clear about that. I've heard lots of Wilsons of that generation though not Duettes and I'm quite familiar with how Wilsons of that generation were voiced. I've never suggested t...
Wilson Audio Duette / Custom Crossover Upgrade
@OP - IMHO  John Atkinson's account of his measurements give a better description of the frequency response of the speaker. BTW re "With it being a 2-way with 8" woofer, it’s unique", there's nothing particularly unusual in two way speaker designs...
Wilson Audio Duette / Custom Crossover Upgrade
@OP Your posted measurements are quite different from the in room measurements that John Atkinson took. While he found the speaker peaky in the upper midrange, he measured it as a bit through the upper bass/lower midrange?
Cost Incurred to Achieve a Vinyl LP Replay
To be fair, I doubt english is the OP's first language. But the post is confused as it mainly rambles on about this: "I do belive adopted methods to produce Bespoke ancillaries are capable of producing performance that will be more aligned to anc...
Basic question about sensitivity
AOP - you're welcome.
Basic question about sensitivity
@OP There is no problem using a 4 ohm speaker with your V12 as long as the speaker is fairly close to it's nominal impedance. But you probably want something in the region 87dB. But if you are sill happy with your 805s, I wouldn't be rushing out t...
Basic question about sensitivity
@OP what I meant by polarising is that some people love LS50s and other's for some reason don't like them at all. In fact, that may be due to the fact that they are a tough speaker to drive. I went back and had a look at John Atkinson's measuremen...
