Classe Audio rises again
I have 5 pieces of old Classe equipment, all but one from the Dave Reich era, so having the name still going probably isn't going to mean anything as far as getting my stuff serviced, but nice to see it back nonetheless.
Looking for speaker recommendations that I can purchase on Amazon.com
1 - if Best Buy and Amazon are the only places you can buy right now, I would postpone your purchase until that changes. They are not the best places to buy high end audio gear2 - you should be looking at used speakers.  Would you rather have $5K ...
How to pick a COMPATIBLE phono cartridge
Interesting system.. I use CJ Premier units in two systems - a 15 phono in a heritage system and a 14 and 11a in my main system. With the 15 I run a Lyra Clavis low output cartridge. The 15 has lower gain than the Vendetta I use in the main system,...
Speaker distance
About 7.5' between the speakers and 11' from listener to speakers..Another system is set up for about 6' apart and 8' distance.
Full-sounding SS amps (besides Pass)
I prefer Class A amps - own Belles and Classe that operate in true Class A and sound excellent.  Also use a Jeff Rowland that has a heavy duty power supply and sounds very nice.
high-efficiency loudspeakers
My main system Wilsons at 92 dB are probably my most efficient speakers.
Crosley should be arrested for selling junk
Oh no, not at all. Good LP playback requires a proper turntable, and a proper pickup arm, and a proper phono cartridge, and a proper phono preamp. They must each be suited to the others, and they must all be properly setup. And one more thing ...
Which watts are the right watts in SS amps?
I swing both ways. One system has a 70 wpc tube power amp and my other two systems use class A amps that will drive any speaker made (bought them from a guy using them to run Apogee Scintillas, possibly the most difficult load out there - 1 ohm and...

Classe or McIntosh Is Classe going out of businesssed
The Classe I loved went far earlier.  Many of the original Dave Reich designs simply sounded better than the new ones made after he left (caveat - I have no experience with the last 5 years of production - haven't had a chance to hear them).Notice...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
$4k goes much further if you buy used, All sorts of possibilities, Vandersteen, Magnepan, ML CLS, Quad, that would mostly exceed your cap new but are available in good used condtion in that price range.Choice for you will depend on other equipment...

Getting The Most Out Of A Koetsu Urushi
I agree that the SME V arm is magic with the Urushi and that's what I use, into a Vendetta phono stage. No transformers needed.  I have also used it with a Conrad Johnson Premier 15 which also had ample gain.Other arms that might be worth trying i...
My apologies_Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7's?
Why do you feel the Maxx 3 are too much for your room?  I run Maxx 2 and they are excellent al low volume or high and they are quite efficient - I am currently driving them with 70 tube watts
@inna Tell me your speakers and I'll tell you who you are
Vandersteen 4A - because they were one of the best all round performers back in the late 80s /early 90s despite the tri wire/biamping complexityMartin Logan (original) CLS - because the mid range is sooo perfect on acoustic material - jazz, classi...
