So how many people are using subwoofers
" I recently got Vandersteen 5 speakers that have true built in subs that go to 22 HZ, are very tunable, and have built in 400 wpc amps to drive the subs. I have never heard such great bass, and I love them. But a friend uses REL subs with MG 3.6...
What vintage speaker might you use today
"Did I miss anyone mentioning a Vandy? Their model 2Ce is a keeper "Yeah - my main system speakers have been Vandersteen 4As for many years. He only built a couple of hundred of them whenever he could spare the time from production of the more pop...

Great multichannel amps do not cut it in stereo
Some multi channel power amps can be pretty good sounding.I had to put my AV surround amp in as main player for the system for a couple of weeks (an ATI 1505) and was pleasantly surprised with the decent sound.
Vandersteen 4
The 4A is truly an excellent speaker and stands up well today with a good front end. They were a bit fiddly - triwired and biamped with a separate crossover (or two) and some people aren't into anything but plug and play, but they are definitely w...
