Replace OL Illustrious 3 with Graham 2.2? Addendum: the hole can be from 1.5 to 1.75 in. according to an email Bob Graham sent me a while back.
Replace OL Illustrious 3 with Graham 2.2? Yes on the wands. 1.5-in. hole, pivot-to-spindle 217.4 mm (roughly 8.5 in.). It's actually an extremely easy arm to mount because Graham includes a little nipple that fits over the spindle; then you fit a specified hole in the headshell onto the n...
Replace OL Illustrious 3 with Graham 2.2? I don't know the Illustrious but the Graham 2.2 is a great arm. I've had one mounted on an Orbe SE for several years and think it's a great combo. All of the necessary adjustment parameters are at your finger tips with the 2.2. It's a fully realiz...
Anyone try the Fosgate Fozgometer Azimuth meter? I got one yesterday after waiting 6 weeks or so. Don't know how it works exactly or whether it's the most precise way to adjust azimuth but I like the results. Used it on two cartridges and both sounded better after the Foz. Took all of 5 minutes.
Ortofon A90 with Graham Phantom Downunder, thanks for the info. I think I see an A90 in my future :)
Ortofon A90 with Graham Phantom The Ortofon Cadenza line has the same three nubs. I've been dissuaded from buying one, or the A90, for my Phantom II for this reason.I ran across this carbon fiber spacer product from MusicDirect. It's rather expensive but might do the trick. Come...
Ikeda 407 VTA adjustment Got it. Thanks to you both.Bill
K&K phono break-in period Your estimate is just about right on. I bought a "maxxed out" built by Kevin a few months ago. He told me the big Cardas caps take the longest--100 hours or more--to fully settle in, and that was pretty much my experience. But the great bass you m...
12-inch armwand on Graham Phantom II? I just learned from my dealer, who got it from Garth at MS, that the P-to-S distance is 292 mm for the 12-in. wand and the counterweight is the same. The range of cartridges shrinks from 4-18 grams to 4-16.Apparently, Bob Graham is on vacation unt...
12-inch armwand on Graham Phantom II? Rgurney, I just asked my dealer about the counterweight. He'll check with MS but believes the stock weight is fine b/c the various arm lengths were designed to be plug and play except for mounting distance. I'll report when I get more info.
12-inch armwand on Graham Phantom II? It's not on the site. Sorry, I don't have many more details yet. My local dealer stopped in at Musical Surroundings yesterday at my request and inquired about availability. One week turnaround on special order, he was told. MS immediately sent an ...
12-inch armwand on Graham Phantom II? Indeed. Special order at $1,250, according to the distributor, MusicalSurroundings.
Soundsmith's turnaround time? I had Peter retip a Shelter 901 and a Phase Tech P3-G recently. Wait time was 16 weeks, which was a few weeks more than I was initially quoted, but I didn't mind. The work is wonderful. The Phase Tech sounds better than factory and tracks *much* b... |
