Ok guys
My Linn cover comes off easily, and I assume the cover is a bass trap...it works with and without but I always take it off when using it.
It looks like a debate to me.
I've earned my stripes by being a sought after and sometimes chased after (Get him! That concert was too damn loud!) live sound mixer/producer/destroyer. I've had my stripes ceremoniously ripped off in front of royalty also, along with banishment ...
Best 6NS7 Preamp for a Pass Labs XA25 amp
Schiit Freya +...I understand it's too inexpensive for many to take seriously but that's a mistake. 6SN7GTB-centric extremely well designed preamps, and supposedly an improvement of my original version that performs magnificently. Nothing like 'em.
Synergistic Research Cable Risers?
Isolate speakers from their internal cables? Hmmm...and Thyname...I can only assume you were joking as indeed, the cables inside your speakers (and the amps inside my subs or any "active" speaker) are not on the floor (a brilliant observation) and...
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense?
The Firebottle Club! The Had HO is an astonishing and seemingly underrated thing, possibly due to the relative lack of availability including him not actually making this amp recently. What's his Ebay output...a couple of dozen a year? The only am...
Synergistic Research Cable Risers?
Baloney...vibration from music (or sub sonic tectonic vibes generated by an overly fertile imagination) isn't the horrible thing people claim it is, and getting your cables off the floor is utterly unnecessary and, by the way, vibration still gets...
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense?
A two month old (its birthday is written on the bottom plate) Dennis Had Inspire "Firebottle HO" single ended hand wired tube masterpiece, about 1200 bucks. New (original series) Schiit Freya, 700 bucks. Inexpensive Morrow cables...it’s like this ...
Anyone have experience with the Tung Sol 7581a vs. EL34, KT66, KT88, 6L6
What can go wrong is Tube Reversal Compulsion Syndrome (TRCS) where an audio geek can't decide which tubes to use resulting in socket failure and, sadly, tube abuse.
Anyone have experience with the Tung Sol 7581a vs. EL34, KT66, KT88, 6L6
BLASPHEMY! Human perception being the key thing in all things subjective isn't always good news or any news...or accurate news anyway. I have only 2 power tubes in my single ended Had amp so it's almost too easy to look at it and wonder, "what if ...
Who Offers a Highly Musical Preamp using a 6SN7 tube and a remote?
"Bad Boys" have been expensive for a long time, so I get that. NOS Chrome Domes and GEs aren't so expensive at all (yet) and sound great.
Subwoofer help needed
Used RELs are out there for cheap...I own 2 and they're amazingly good subs that change everything in your rig for the better. Mine are class A/B 150 and 100 watt that blend superbly, and cost 200 bucks each.
Who Offers a Highly Musical Preamp using a 6SN7 tube and a remote?
I have had excellent service from Schiit...I was shipped a new Aegir and when I suspected it to be "too sensitive," meaning it shut itself down too easily, they arranged for a new one with the return of the old one immediately, free of charge and ...

Don't know how much of tube listening preferences are simply about differences, but being a 7581a fan I was surprised at the "difference" when I swapped in my GL KT77s this weekend...my little amp sort of came to life. Perhaps the 7581s are gettin...
It looks like a debate to me.
Kaitty's system: Grado SR60 or 80 utterly mediocre headphones with the foam ear cushions removed and a Sony Walkman CD player. Right Kaitty? There might be green sharpie on the edges of the  CDs which certainly elevates this system to true High En...
Whatta Ya Think About Hsu Research Subwoofers?
I'm not sure brand mixing is a good idea as you have to know that when you're out of the room the things are going to argue with each other...nobody wants that.
