The Hub: Futterman H3: Seen one lately?
Not exactly an audio comment but one on how business was done prior to Ma Bell being broken up.Long distance was expensive. The reason being was that local calls were just about free and service was cheap. Phones were given away free by the phone ...

Phono.. does this mean?
Yes and NoIt probably definitely means that a moving magnet (MM) cartridge would work, it might also mean that a moving coil (MC) might not work, depending if it was a High Output(HO) or a Low Output(LO). Check the specs, if you can find them, and...

Records are getting noisy
Given the care you have given your records have your checked the stylus? Have you changed phono cables?Just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing if any sticks but based on your use of cleaners and history perhaps it is not the record.
Phono cable idea's
Hovland MusicGRoove2 works for me. Try the Cable Company, they will let you try one as well as a number of others from their lending library. Within that budget was my purchase, was willing to go higher but nothing they had at at least 2x the cost...

Had about 200 on my own, then one friend gave up vinyl entirely and gave me his collection, for another 800 albums, another friend gave me his for about another 150, and still another is about to give me hers for about 100 more. Even after weeding...
