Music Hall or Rega TT Well, they all have their good points. The Regas tend to be a touch fast on speed, and sometimes don't mate well with Grado cartridges because of the motor location causing hum. But they have very good arms, and are easy to upgrade and tweak. The M...
Getting into analog is tough.... You don't have to get into analog. I read posts every day here from people who don't want to get into analog. It takes some commitment, and some study, and some work, and maintenance, and is less convenient. Some newer music is not available on anal...
Balance - sound is too far to the right A likely cause is the anti-skating setting. However it could have something to do with the cartridge alignmnent also. Try experimenting with the anti-skating first, if you believe the alignment is correct.

Moving to Horn speakers I agree that the DHT SET amps with the 45 triode work very well on Lowthers. I've been running that combination for almost a year now, and am extremely impressed with the results. I think a 45 amp is about optimum for the best results from Lowther...
Any Pink Floyd Historians? Just get all the early albums, starting with the first one, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and going all the way to DSOTM. You won't be sorry. That is their best material. They've all been mentioned above. Some is classic, some is bizarre. It's a...
Do we break in our componets or do our componets ? Redkiwi, I have been having this discussion with the "measurement people" since the day I started on this board.(and long before) It doesn't matter what you say, if they can't measure it, they don't think it exists. Moving to Horn speakers Sean, just out of curiosity, what are the most efficient fullrange drivers? The highest I've heard of is the Loth-X "Stamm" driver, which is 104db/1w/1m. I've never heard them though. Is there something that is higher than that, which is not front... |
