To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better?
To panzrwagon Your input and expertise is helpful. Do you have a point of view on Ethernet Over Powerline systems, and whether that technology, even if it passes the network signal well, will add noise onto the AC line that hifi gear and related ...
To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better?
I suppose that to get a suitable music stream fed into my new Ethernet only network bridge device, a simple extender will do the trick. I think that device just sucks in the existing wifi signal broadcast by the main wifi router, and feeds it into...
To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better?
Thanks for the quick responses, I appreciate it. to ghdprentice - I looked at your system to see the specific extender model as you said but I could not find it, sorry if I somehow missed it. TP Link makes so many types of extenders, so when I g...
amplifier longevity
I think they are about the same.  Alot depends on how hot the amplifier runs I think.  I have heard that really hot amps cook the capacitors and make them age faster.
Roon drops signal
I am trying Roon and am having drop out issues, whereas using my lowly Bluesound Node as streamer without all the Roon Core/Nucleus hardware it never had drop outs. I have the Nucleus connected to the home LAN, not using wifi anywhere.  But Quboz...
Qobuz stops playing via Roon.
I found this thread and I am having the same problems.  Qobuz 24/96 feeds are cutting out.  Can't load properly.  No such problems with my trusty old Bluesound Node 2i running Blu OS.  Roon is looking lame, I must say.
Questions on using Roon
This raises an important question for me.  Is there a mininum computer (say PC) capability in terms of processor and RAM needed to run the Roon programs for best possible sound and responsiveness?  I am thinking about using a spare, 6-7 year old ...
Forum Updates 11/24/2021
I for one understand the captcha's functionality.  I would also suggest the forum put in some verification and security measures for new people seeking to register using multiple Audiogon handles.  There seems to be zero security in this aspect of...
Questions on using Roon
OK thanks for the details.  I have a laptop PC I could dedicate for the purpose of running the Core program.  The computers have fans and make some noise so it would be nice to put it in a different room, then hopefully the endpoints can run off w...

Very happy that these improvement are being made.  Thank you.
best SQ improvement DAC under $1000 to pair with Bluesound Node 2i
At a friend’s recommendation I got a Schiit Gungnir Multi bit and it is a very nice sounding DAC. Clear but musical.  I felt it was an improvement over a RME dac I had before that.
Onzow ZeroDust reportedly leaves a residue
I have been using my Onbow for sveral years with no problem.  I do clean it once in a while.
Is advice from a constant upgrader to be avoided
@jjss49 I have found your comments and thoughts on equipment on this forum some of the most useful of all that I read. Just your knowledge on dacs alone.  You always bring solid ideas and observations without the ego nonsense. And your writing i...
New Tidal Plans and Changes
As one of the linked articles points out, this is a competitive response by Tidal to what the giants in the industry are doing.
Have you ever been turned off by an Arrogant Dealer? Thoughts
I seem to recall another thread with a similar topic.
