streamer to DAC connection I read this thread with some interest as I am upgrading my DAC and am interested in the question posed. It sure seems to me the question was answered in a durect and helpful way, and the original poster is somewhat belaboring the point after rece...
BEWARE OF FRAUD with this member I always thought Paypal gives a good deal of buyer security, at least I recall that is how the service used to market itself as a selling point. Maybe things have changed. It really sucks when this kind of thing happens.
Is there a point of diminished returns with amps and Harbeth 30.1s? I had listened to a couple of Harbeth models some time back, and my impression is that they are definitely in the warm and fuzzy camp. It is such a subjective thing, and different people have widely varying preferences for sure. They do play women...
VAC preamps - too expensive? I have a couple quite longstanding audiophile friends who feel the opposite, that ARC is superior to VAC for performance, value and engineering. Both are definitely top shelf brands with very very high prices but both my friends swear by ARC and s...
warmest speaker cables you've heard? The nice thing about the value oriented Canare 4s11 is that they are naturally a biwire cable.
Underwood Hifi / Underwood Wally... Interesting responses. Some are eye opening. Walter/Underwood is no doubt a good longstanding retailer. Thanks again for all the input.
warmest speaker cables you've heard? I have used the Canare 4S11 star quad cables with my Epos M22 speakers in biwire mode and the sound is very smooth, but also well detailed. They are quite inexpensive as high end speaker cables go. I have had these great Epos flagship speakers f...
DENAFRIPS DAC ---- Owner Impressions, Feedback, General Discussion, Questions and more.... jjss49 Thank you for all that incredibly useful info. I am going to upgrade my DAC and this helps dispel alot of confusion and uncertainty.
Appreciation I often have the same experience after being away from home for a while. It is incredibly nice to hear your own system well tuned for your ears!
McIntosh - is it that great? I have always thought the looks are very cool, in an old school retro kind of way. In a friend's system I heard the sound seemed pretty soft and romantic to my ears but I don't know if that was a result of the Mac preamp and amp being used.
Underwood Hifi / Underwood Wally... To all who replied, many thanks for your input. Also appreciated those who sent me messages by DM. I understand your various experiences, positive and negative. It is really a nice group of knowledgeable people here with an excellent base of expe...
Best Bang for your Buck DAC ? An audiophile recommended MHDT to me, and I recently bought their Orchid DAC. It sounds very nice, not digital sounding at all.
Best DAC? I haven’ t heard many modern DACs but I recently purchased a MHDT Orchid and I think it sounds very very nice. Not digital sounding at all, and a big improvement over my Marantz CDP. This DAC does a great job of gluing the digital bits together i...
Shipping rates on site always lower I think that the pandemic has made shipping estimates and service guarantees all the more difficult. Maybe things can get back to something close to normal in the months to come.
Can a speaker just die? This happened to me on a pair of Epos ES14's I had back years ago. It was a bad solder joint at the binding post. |
