Focal 936 K2 compared to Q Acoustics Concept 500?
Im curious to know whether the K2 update makes a difference versus the earlier versions of the various Focal speakers.  Anyone tried new K2 vs old on the same model speaker?
Usb cable recommendation
I have the Belkin gold one that goes for $30 and was written up in Stereophile a few years ago, it continues to work well for me, maybe the newer more expensive ones are better, though how much better?
first US review 432 evo music server
What are the rules for retailers posting here to advertise their wares? This one makes me wonder.  Don't retailers have to pay to advertise here?
Think Its Possible To Order Tubes From the Ukraine?
Well it kinda seems to me that if one can order tubes from a seller like this in Ukraine that one could first email them to ask if they have stock and if they can ship to the USA without any delay.
Audioquest Vodka vs Wireworld Starlight 8 (Not Platinum) Ethernet
I just watched the video that jjss49 posted, and it seems pretty clear to me from the explanation the guy gives how this works, and why it should be better. The optical conversion prevents electrical noise from crossing where an electrical conduct...
What are we objectivists missing?
The way I see it is if two cables measure the same but sound different, then it seems like you are not measuring the right things. And as usual, jjss49 hits the old nail right on the head.
Lyngdorf 3400 flexibility vs 1120
Thanks to the recommendation of another member here, i bought a TDA-1120 and I really love the unit. It sounds really nice and the Room Perfect is amazingly good. Reduced boom in the bass and allowed the music to sound much clearer, I feel like th...
Does Formula 1 racing and high end audio go together for anyone else?
My son and I have a lot of fun watching the Netflix series Drive to Survive.  It is really well done and it is fun seeing and knowing all the personalities involved.
What is an audiophile? Are you an audiophile?
I really love to listen to music in my home. I listen daily, and I quite enjoy high quality reprodution of the music. Over the years I have put together a very nice system of equipment that was somewhat expensive for me and I sometimes look in her...
McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer
@stereo5 I think that maybe I was unclear in the meaning of my comment earlier. I was actually talking about folks who have a problem with pcb’s in hifi gear, and think that point to point wiring is better.  That belief is silly, and I think tho...
Verastarr
Seems like this joker Powell lives in his own bubble, and it is too bad other people need to deal with him. What an incompetent business person and a complete jerk.  He needs a nice trip to the woodshed.
Speakers with a slightly warm midrange
My good friend has Harbeths and I think they fit the descripton of having a full midrange.  I found them to sound very nice with vocals.
McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer
They haven’t used point to point wiring since the invention of the printed circuit board.  I have observed that in this hifi hobby so many peeps have really odd ideas of what good quality is in equipment.
Amp for Mini Maggie Speakers
Oh geez I did not realize the mini maggie setup is a desktop system.  I thought this was about the smaller floorstanding speakers.
Why don't upgrade the wires and components inside our units?
Doesn't the entire DIY and professional mods folks deal with this part of it all?
