Amp for LS 3/5a Falcon Gold Badge
Its been some time now, but I am a Naim fan, and my Nait XS2 were a really fine pairing with my Rogers LS3/5As with the very nice integral subs.
Do you play any...?
Guitar and piano for me learned as a kid we are a musical family and it is a real joy.  I highly recommend parents get their children into musical education music lessons or being part of the school band.
A simple tube hack
I had the same experience as stereo5 with melted rubber rings YUCK.
Adding a Dac and Stresmer
I agree with the people recommending the new Node with power supply upgrade.  I have this, and the sound is very very nice and in fact nicer than the Innuos Zen Mini I also bought some time back.  The Bluos is a really nice user software program i...
Goodbye Everyone
Why is this Elliot?  I do hope you will be back soon, and even better!
WAF - music to my ears
I do agree with this in that my wife and daughters are hardly hifi people or audiophiles but they have commented when something is changed in my system for the better or worse, and this just from being around and hearing the music from afar.  What...
PS Audio BHK 250 Power Amp owners?
I recall reading that Sanders amps are powerful but don't sound so great.  I will look on the PS Audio website to try to learn more about the BHKs.  Thanks.
Magnepan Upgrades, Silver and New Crossovers!
Seems to me like the amateur marketing department at Dan Richie’s GR dustbowl in Tejas is in overdrive. Guess that with interest rates being high maybe there are delinquent mortgage payments piling up.
Disservice: XLR interconnects
There are hundreds of Chinese cable makers in China on eBay and Alibaba. With names like Audiocrast, Nordust, Cardost, Kimble, Wirewood, it is too darned funny, really hard to keep a straight face. Reminds me of back in the day buying a fake Herme...
Tidal class-action
Anyone who has worked in law or in any serious business knows what is being said here about lawsuits or class action suits for this MQA thing is completely ridiculous. People should stick to talking about interconnects and speakers and cartridges....
What's your experience with snooty HiFi salesmen?
If I am in a store to buy something expensive I expect to be treated respectfully.  No exceptions.  I will ask for the manager if the junior salesperson isn't courteous or acts out badly.  Same with being at a car dealership.  If it is a stereo sh...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
This discussion is good for me too as I am considering the same thing. I am thinking about getting a pair of .7 or 1.7 and then using a PS Audio BHK 250 hybrid power amp to drive them. I am wondering if anyone here has this same combo, or a BHK 25...
Why so much love for Mcintosh?
In the times I have really listened to Mcintosh gear it sounded very natural and big sounding, of course these were usually expensive systems with big tall floorstanding column speakers so maybe the big impressive sound was more because of those. ...
Is soundstage DEPTH a myth?
My own take on this is that system quality and how well it is set up really figures into how well it does the imaging.  That doesn't mean the system has to be real pricey.  I have heard mid line British speakers do the imaging thing fantastically ...
Good old days
When I listen in my car, or through earbuds when traveling, music can also be very enjoyable.  It is definitely more enjoyable when I get home and plop down in front of my hifi though.  It seems like its not really important to choose between the ...
