Would appreciate feedback on logic
I like Zd's suggestion to set your system up in a room with better acoustics, if possible, to get a reference point. Once you know what your system is capable of you should work on treating your room to improve the sound. From my experience, just ...

Meadowlark Kestrel: Model Number of Woofer?
I have owned 3 pairs of the Meadowlark Kestrels, the first pair was the Hot Rod version. I once started to remove one of the woofers, can't remember why, but I gave up as it seemed stuck to the baffle and I wasn't ambitious enough to rip it out. I...
Stopped looking for the best system
Tubes may get you another "aha" moment but I predict it will be a temporary "fix." I'm quickly approaching 60 and am happy to say I have been off the merry go round for a few years. Stopped looking to better my setup a few years ago. Even more sat...

Should I Get a DAC ?
I had a Jolida tube cdp and it was nowhere near as smooth sounding as my Resolution Audio cdp. The RA cdp is all solid state so Solid state is not necessarily the problem. BTW, I also have trouble with excessive treble.

It pays NOT to specify the name of the component you're having trouble with.I asked for help/advice about a Sony 5400ES player that was truncating the first half-second of music at startup. When I went to sell, someone made a firm offer then renege...
why do hi-end fuses keep blowing, while std don't?
Excellent response Mapman.
why do hi-end fuses keep blowing, while std don't?
Those two sentences from McIntosh seem perfectly reasonable coming from the manufacturer of any amp.
why do hi-end fuses keep blowing, while std don't?
Like Andrew ( Mapman ) suggested, you need to find out if the Hi-Fi Tuning fuses are simply made to a tighter spec.ChuckKrell_manOr maybe made to a looser spec?
wht power cable to use
The one that came with it. Use it for a whileNotec+1Hard to imagine an expensive pc will to be noticed on a $400 amp.
grills or no grills on your speakers..matters?
Depends on the speakers. The Aerials in my bedroom have the grills on, the Meadowlark Kestrels in the listening room are sans grills. This is done based on listening preference.
Spdif source switching?
I use a Monarchy Audio DIP and feel it makes a positive difference. They regularly sell used for $150-$200.Only two inputs is the only negative.
