Qobuz Special Offer Just got this email from Qobuz today so it appears they are automatically converting accounts to the lower fee. I know many of us hoped this would occur...nice to Qobuz respond quickly. Now only $14.99 Because your music is worth it If yo...
Pass Labs XA 30.8 Standby power draw? Your question got me curious so I decided to measure my XA30.8. In standby mode, with only the little blue LED light on, it measured a mere 0.3 watts. Perhaps it's powering little more than the LED in this mode? When turned completely on but wi...
Network Switches Does anyone actually have and use an EtherREGEN yet or all they all on order still? I'm just very curious to read some reviews of actual users.
Isolation Platform to Raise & Isolate Loudspeakers @thyname IsoAcoustics GAIA line No way would I put a Klipsch Heritage line speaker on feet or spikes. They weren't designed to have a cavity beneath the speaker. Paul W. Klipsch himself has noted in his designs that a cavity beneath the sp...
Special 40 / Contour 30 (upgrade path?) I've heard the Confidence 20 earlier this year and they sound fantastic but certainly come at a price - ~$12K.
Network Switches @david_uk_22 Ah I think I get it now.You are saying that adding an extra piece of equipment, a switch or anything , is adding further potential to add noise to your audio system. Nothing to do with the digital audio it is switching. Yes, tha...
Network Switches @david_uk_22 I am talking post digitizing and " the negative affects of ALL potential sources of electrical-based noise, including routers, switches, transformers, and power supplies " before it gets to my house. In my view (I know others di...
Network Switches @david_uk_22 So If all of my gear is susceptible to RF/EM noise then why is, and this is my only and original question , the gear in a professional network not susceptible to the same type of noise? Because the BBC or any other professional n...
Class A 30 Watt Amps: Are they enough to drive my book shelfs? I have the 30.8 and I would be shocked if the 30.5 couldn’t completely drive the heck out of those KEF’s. You will never see a more power-underrated amp than these Pass Class A’s. Those speakers are 8 ohm and only dip down 4.2 ohms. The Pass amp c...
Network Switches @david_uk_22 "It" meaning all of your audio gear, and NOT the digital signal! All of your gear is susceptible to to the RF/EM noise created by digital equipment and their power supplies, etc. Sorry for the ambiguous "it". Is this more clear now?
Network Switches @david_uk_22 Sorry but I still don't follow how the digital signal can be susceptible to your "RF/EM noise" Ok David you have to stop this. Again I am NOT saying that the digital signal is susceptible to noise. I have gone to great lengths...
Isolation Platform to Raise & Isolate Loudspeakers @jbhiller I'm considering a Symposium Acoustics Svelte speaker set. I'm using their Foundation Rack and a couple of other platforms with good results under other gear.https://i.postimg.cc/cHTTzrtT/sveltespeakerset.jpg
Isolation Platform to Raise & Isolate Loudspeakers From what I understand (which is limited!), the operative function in loudspeaker vibration control is not isolation, but rather energy dissipation from the speaker's cabinet or frame. I'm picking up some Forte III's later this week myself and I'...
How much do you need to spend to get digital to rival analog? I find the complete opposite. Digital systems say under $1500 sound much better than analog - at least vinyl. But once you get over about $3K vinyl starts sounding better than equally priced digital.
Network Switches @david_uk_22 But I don't think that your Ferrari/Kia comparison works. If the sole purpose is to get from a to b and the Kia will do that, then the Ferrari is not needed Of course the Kia/Ferrari analogy works. If you care about audio you don’t ... |
