RFI from steel TV bracket?
What all do you have connected to the TV? Are you using a Pre-pro that you can connect everything to then just run HDMI from the Pre-Pro to the TV? If you are running analog IC's to the TV and they are picking up interference from the AC cable the...
RFI from steel TV bracket?
If I understand this you just installed the TV mount onthe wall. Is there any chance a screw cut into your Romex in the wall and is hitting a grownd wire? I would say try removing a screw at a time and check for the hum. It just odd that an LED Tv...
RFI from steel TV bracket?
My first thought is; it's not the rack but the TV. Try lifting the ground to the TV. Or possibly pluging the TV into a known different circuit that is on the opposite phase of the balance of your system. One other suggestion if you feel it is the ...
Record Cleaner Fluid suggestions
I use L'Art du Son and do a rinse cycle as a extra measure of assurance that all cleaning fluid is removed. But a freind of mine uses it as well and he never rinses and claims good results. Have you tried not rinsing?
Vandersteen Treo at RMAF
I had a chance to listen at the show and my only comment is, spend some time with these before you spend 6K.
Do you use variable speed on your turntable?
If I really like a particular song I will slow it down to make it last longer!
Which is more accurate: digital or vinyl?
I have found when I upgraded my cartridge about 9 months ago that I was missing information buried in the grooves of vinyl records. I would have said digital was more acurate before then, but I beleive now that vinyl contains more information. It ...
John Barnes...RIP
He was missed at RMAF this year, I went to the mezzanine where he was always out front taking time to speak to each and everyone. And there was a void there that could not be overlooked.
Mini Maggie System hurts to listen to
A number of tweeks you could try. Cables both IC and Speaker, re-positioning to take away a direct aim(both angleLR and up-down), room acoustics. If your dealer will take them back, that may be the ulimate solution.
Are CD players dead
I though mine was but is was just unplugged. Whish was a relief because I plan to use it till I die, if it dies first, I'll replace it. I love my vinyl but still buy Cd's. Not everything new comes out on vinyl.
S/N ratio vs. dishes and stupid cats.
Davehrab, I must agree and add: at no expense to future generations of taxpayers.
Importance of Power cords feeding Conditioners
The Running Springs comes with (if opted for) a Mongoose Power cord which is modified Cardas Golden Reference power cable. Which I beleive indicates it must be important to start as close to the wal outlet as possible.I've never tried replacing th...
S/N ratio vs. dishes and stupid cats.
My problem is not from within the house, but from the street with the idiots and their subwoofers passing by. The other problem is nieghborhood barking dogs. Why would anyone want a creature that leaves crap everywhere and uncontrollably produces ...
Buying used or sight unseen speakers a bad idea?
It's like buying anything used and sight unseen. You takes your chances. But if your gut causes you concern, go with it. There will be other deals. As far as age, that is all dependant on the manufacturer and how they have been cared for. Old spea...
Help me w/ small towers-bedroom HT/music system
I own the F32s and have heard the F12 which came out after I bought my F32's. My impression left me asking if I had paid too much. I think the F12s sounded unbelievably good for the price point. Good bass, very articulate in mids and highs. At 120...
