Lyra SPT and poor eyesight
I prefer the Lyra brush, I agree it can be difficult but good lighting helps. I also like the soft bristles as I don't feel that it can ever cause any damage.I would recommend trying to overcome and issues you have and stay with it. JMHO.
French Doors
I assume that you say "we" just moved in, that the french door is a major WAF. So have a door custom made for the opening. Then install curtians on the sound room side to buffer the reflections inheirant to glass doors. 65} is a little wide but I ...
Advice on first MC cartridge
My first Lyra was on Rega P25 and after having a Grado, Benz Glider I wanted a MC Cart and the Lyra Lydian was a wonderful match for the table and arm. In the price range you provide you can buy a new Delos or a good clean used Helikon and a Skala...

I think the fact that you (or we) haven't heard of most of these brands, and that they are winning awards, gotta ask who's voting? I suspect strongly that it is, the dealer, he is hoping for some novice to see these and jump on them like a cat on ...

Grounded vs. ungrounded power cord

OK but what is the McIntosh pre-amp he is using? It is dated compared to the rest of his system. Also at the end I thought is was interesting that the pre-amp was not included in the "explosion scene". Theory: he was killed because he wasn't prope...
how high is the drop test at ups?
I've said before and I'll say it again. UPS is an acronym for Unbelieveably Poor Service and there is a reason their trucks are Sh*t Brown.
For real bass freaks??
OK,now that is just silly!

CD mastering a lost art?
I wonder sometime as well, who is engineering some of these recordings. I recently purchased Adele 21 on vinyl and the recorded distortion is a disappointment to a great performance. How does that get past anyone in the chain producing any music i...
Cardas Golden Reference upgrade to what?
You state:'Never been an issue. Loved the Cardas full bodied and rich tone."I'd say "if it ain't broke don't fix it"But if you really have to scratch that itch, stay with Cardas. You like the sound. Maybe a slight variation is all it would take to...
Are you an Audiophile?
I must confess that I stole those lines from Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues.
how high is the drop test at ups?
It depends on on high they can throw it!And if there is a ladder in the room.
Are you an Audiophile?
