Last night at Chapman Audio Systems
Mjfvashon, would you please share what was the upstream gear used during your audition of these speakers and the type of music played. Thanks.
Did you listen Pass Aleph J or Pass XA30 or 60 ?
Elduende14, I can't comment on the Aleph J because I never have heard it, but do run a pair of XA-100's in my system. They are my new reference and offer great beauty sonicly in my system. For exact details concerning their sonic signature, take a...
Review: Accustic Arts DAC1-MK4 DA converter
Hassel, no I'm not a dealer/distributor for Accustic Arts, just a lucky audiophile who got to audition one of the few MK4's in the US.I believe the US importer/distributor for Accustic Arts, Artistic Audio, will be showing the MK4 at the Stereophi...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
Guidocorona, you mean to tell me that you would let your wife get in the way of a new amp! BLASPHEMY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER! I hope you know I'm just teasing, believe me, I can relate to the WAF, that many audiophiles have to deal with one way or an...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
Guidocorona, your quite right about there being much information on this thread regarding both the Accustic Arts and Wiess Media, mainly provided by Branimir who has compared both in his system.I'm waiting to see what Branimir's opinion will be co...
Recommendation for interconnect and speaker cables
Shimdog, I would recommend that you add to your audition list Acoustic Zen's Matrix reference II and Satori speaker wire, both can be gotten at great prices used, and would sound great in your system.
Chord DAC64 still up to date?
Hassel, I have not heard your DAC64 in years, however my memory of it would indicate that you would be very impressed with the sonics of the newer digital gear.If you take a look at my thread entitled, Reference DACS: An overall perspective, you w...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
Chris, I used to own an Accuphase DC-91 years ago and remember it's sonics with great pleasure. In its day it gave a much more "musical" and Less "etched/bright" presentation then many other digital gear in those days. However, to compare it to the...
Review: Accustic Arts DAC1-MK4 DA converter
Mdhoover, I wish I could be more helpful, but I have never had the pleasure of auditioning any of the Dodson DACS at all. I have heard very good things about them, but none of my audiophile friends have had one in their system and no retailers in ...
Review: Accustic Arts DAC1-MK4 DA converter
Just wanted to share that now that the MK4 has over 150 hours of break-in, that it has blossomed even more with greater "liquidity" and with a finer and "sweeter" top end, but all the fine details and timbres are still terrificly present.I also ha...
Speaker Cables & Interconnects for Threshold Gear
Tmoon, I still use my SA-1 monoblocks to bi-amp my speakers in my main system. I also have a dear friend who uses Threshold gear and we both use Acoustic Zen wires through out our total systems.I have posted in the past a review of the AZ Absolute...
new kharma amplifiers matrix 150
Saxman2,you might want to a look at my thread entitled: A very interesting amp audition, which discusses the Kharma amps you are looking for information about. What I heard when I auditioned them is exactly what the reviewer on Positive Feedback a...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
Branimir, the new MK4 offers both single-ended and balanced connections, so it will match up with your system quite easily. Well, as far as a name change, what can I say, the MK4 is not an upgrade of the MK3 as you said, but a totally different de...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
These questions are for Branimir. Now that I have the Accustic Arts DAC-1 MK4, and enjoying immensely, I was wondering if the MK4 is now avaliable to audition were you live in Europe?Accustic Arts has not yet come out with their new reference tran...
Review: Accustic Arts DAC1-MK4 DA converter
Rx8man, thanks for your kind words regarding my review. To answer your question, the MK4 is a totally new design, so a MK3 cannot be upgraded to a MK4. The MK3 is so good in it's own right, it's very interesting that Accustic Arts was motivated to...
