Audphile 1, here's the answers to your questions:1) The Tap was in my system for nine months.2) I have always been a fan of Nelson Pass regarding his amps, but less so his linestages. I think the current linestages are quite nice, but not at the s...
Pass Labs XA- ".5" ???
Audphile 1, I had helped my friend put together his system so each piece, CDP, preamp, speakers, and all wiring I'm very intimate with regarding their sonic signature, and the XA.5 amp in his system sounded no different then my XA-100's as far as ...
Pass Labs XA- ".5" ???
Tboooe, I have heard the new XA.5 amps in a very good system and I could not tell the difference between my XA-100's and the new XA.5 amps. So, if I were you I would just relax or put your money in other pieces in your system.

Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
Dev, the DAC uses two tubes, I just recieved the matched pair of smooth plate NOS Telefunkens, however I'm having so much pleasure listening to the DAC with the Amperex tubes I'm going to wait awhile before I try the Telefukens out. Have you arran...
Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
I want to share that I have had in the AA DAC for about 30 hours a pair of NOS Amperex 1960's "Bugle Boy" tubes, replacing the stock tubes from China, and the results are trully amazing. More transparency, details, liquidity, and a bigger and more...
Jazz trombone anyone?
Many of the recordings of the great Curtis Fuller and Steve Torre would be something for you to check out. Also, check out Wycliffe Gordon, along with the late great Carl Fontana.
Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
Dev, I'm not a "tube dude" at all, however I have now discussed with four tube mavens the differences between great NOS tubes and the best tubes coming from China and they all agree that regardless what the application is you should get a great im...
Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
Hi Dev, thanks for the nice words regarding my review. To answer your questions:1) The DAC does not even become warm to the touch.2) There is a tube stand-by option, the SS state stays on while the tube goes to sleep, but I just leave it totally o...
Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
Hi Branimir, it's good to hear from you, thanks for the kind words regarding my reviews on Accustic Arts digital gear.If you got out of my review that the Tube Hybrid DAC is "warm" sounding then I failed at conveying it's overall sonic signature t...
Review: Accustic Arts Reference Tube Hybrid DAC II DA converter
Nickt, I thought it was apparent in my review that I felt that the Tube Hybrid was a giant step up in over all musicality compared to the MK-4, so unequivocably it worth the extra $3500.00. The only concern would be is someone's system revealing e...
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
I just got the new Accustic Arts hybrid tube reference DAC in my system. It is not even burnt-in yet, but right out of the box it is the best combination of type 1 and 2 flavor I have ever heard yet in my system. Just wonderful musicality/liquidit...
New Accustic Arts V3 Tube Dac anyone heard?
Dev, I wish I could answer your question regarding the hybrid tube design, but alas I cannot. I do know that it is the first DAC not to use tubes in the analog output stage, but how the tubes are used in the overall design I don't have a clue.Rega...
New Accustic Arts V3 Tube Dac anyone heard?
Hi guys, you owners of AA MK4 better, "buckle up your sonic safety belts". Right out of the box the V3 is significantly more "musical/organic" in its sonic performance, without losing any dynamics or resolution of the MK4, and its not even close t...
