Has anyone tried the Audience Forte F3 power cord? BTW the "brightness" of the Forte is relative to the ultra-smooth powerChord, or a Cardas cord. It's definitely much less bright than the Pangea.
Has anyone tried the Audience Forte F3 power cord? @maxima95 who knows about the $1200 cord, but I don’t think it matters all that much. Price-quality correlation is largely a crapshoot with these things. :) If it’s a highly-regarded cable that many people can vouch for, that’s a different matter....
I need cables for my 2 channel system [dammit, Audiogon keeps messing up, hence the deleted posts above.]@mayoradamwest where in the Bay Area are you? If you're in SF, you can borrow a couple things from me to try. An upgrade to Mogami Gold for XLR that doesn't cost crazy money would ...
Has anyone tried the Audience Forte F3 power cord? Hi Jim - I have 2 of the Forte F3's in my house. Jim McDonald sent them to me a couple months ago and unfortunately I just haven't had the time to listen to them extensively. I'll try to do that this weekend and get back to you. I've been using so...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge @jafant my friend is sending me some of the older Audience cables, I think possibly the original Au24, for comparison with the SX. So I should have a sense of how they work with the Bryston, if you decide to pick up an old set or what not.
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge @professorsvsu I'm glad you're enjoying your 4B3 even more now after some more run-in. TBH, when you said it was only a little better than your Parasound, I raised my eyebrows a bit and thought to myself, that Bryston either isn't set up properly ...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge @fsonicsmith in fairness and full disclosure, I'm actually a reviewer so it's my job to try to be as objective as possible. :) And the Brystons are on loan for review. I try not to be a brand groupie, and ultimately all I care about is how good th...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge @elizabeth I haven't used the BP26 but I have experience with the preamp section of the older Bryston B60, which is pretty much the same as the BP6 which in turn uses the same fundamental discrete op amp circuits as the BP25 and BP26 and shares th...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge @jafant for interconnects I'm using either Audience Au24 SX (admittedly a little out of whack price-wise with the Brystons) or DH Labs Revelation. I also have DH Labs Air Matrix and some assorted other budget things lying around, but most of my ti...
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge And no, the 100 hours of run-in at the factory is clearly not enough. The 200 hours are on top of that. :)
Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge Late to the party, but I’m currently reviewing the 4B3, so thought I’d chime in. Initially, I found the sound with the BP-17 Cubed preamp to be underwhelming. It lacked resolution and was rather dull and lifeless. How much of this was the pre vs. ...
Tidal and MQA..two questions. Has anyone else found 16/44 Tidal on Roon doesn't sound as good as the same track ripped and served locally by Roon? My wife actually noticed this - we were playing an orchestral piece and she commented the sound was anemic and lacking, "something...
Tidal and MQA..two questions. @grannyring right, MQA does certainly sound better than Spotify’s highest quality (320kbps MP3). We would lose the only practical "audiophile-quality" streaming service if Tidal goes away. Will enough people care, at least from a business perspect...
Tidal and MQA..two questions. It's hard to see Tidal succeeding in the long term. There just isn't a strong enough value prop over Spotify for most users. All of my friends at work (tech millennials) have Spotify, I'm not aware of a single Tidal user except the fringe audiophi...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers Also I have heard the Audiovector SR 3 Avantgarde Arreté, a floorstanding version of the SR 1 (I think $12k). It's fuller and richer, but IMO not as fun as the SR 1, doesn't have the same transparency and magic. I think a SR 1 with a good subwoofe... |
