Another Virus Outbreak on the way.... I got it twice, came through on emails from Agoners addresses!!! Norton picked it up and quarentined it. SO no problem so far.
Cables for progressive scan Patmatt is correct; its just a matter of convenience. But it is important to use a true 75 ohm cable/RCA not any old rca terminated cable. Don't sell the convenience factor too short however, given the typical spaghetti factory behind most HT rigs.
Who R U? Hi Calloway. Hope you hit em "straight and long".
Other great classified add sources, even Canada? Rgd- You are correct re: 9/11 issues, and actually the recent cross-border mailings have all be more rapid than I expected. My horror story was in a m.o. sent a couple of years ago. It came back after one month, stating no such address. Address wa...
Other great classified add sources, even Canada? There seems to be no rhyme or reason, but in buying multiple items from Canada, I've gotten charged a customs/brokerage fee ($19) once. Other than the sometimes slow pace of Canada Post, they've all been smooth.
What pre-amp would you choose Should be able to snag a BAT VK5i for about $2K. Or a 3i w/remote and phono for about $1.25K.
300 disk W/ outboard DAC or single play W good dac "good dac" is pretty hard to define, but even used you'd be hard pressed to get something older but recent for less than about $150-$250. That doesn' leave much room for a transport and cables. Maybe try a CAl Icon MK2 one box player.
New to digital mod world...help I guess the biggest question is, does it have digital out. If so, and if repair cost is reasonable (probably not), then you could hook it up with a modern DAC and give it a go.
One channel pre dead, one source only OK, I swapped out the BAT for an ARC SP9MkII I have hung onto for an office system (glad I didn't sell it to help finance the Vandy 3a sigs I've been lusting after). Everything is fine now, so it seems to be in the BAT line stage somewhere. I will...
Shouldn't this be intuitive? The disks I am using successfully are Sony CDR-Audio and under the compact disc logo they say digital audio. BTW, there is a pretty high failure rate on CDRs. Maybe you should try recording from another source to see if the record function works a...
Headphones+Quad 606 Beavis is correct (the 2nd time).
Happy Thanksgiving to All Same to all.
Shouldn't this be intuitive? Jeff- are you using Audio CDRs? You can't use the computer data CDRs due to licensing/copyright issues. The used Pioneer CD recorder I bought here didn't work until I bought Audio CDRs. They have a special logo on them. Can't remember exactly what...
what used speakers to buy for 650? You should be able to get a pair of VAndersteen 2c/2ci for about that much. These speakers, IMO, never sound bad and can stand up to some pretty good electronics if you start upgrading. I listen to mostly acoustic music (jazz, folk, bluegrass, roo...
Replace 35" TV with something bigger Charles- You are absolutely correct. The DVD image on my Loewe Planus (16:9 dtv, 420p via internal doubler) is awesome, on TV its very dark and sometimes fuzzy as well. One advantage of the Loewe is each input has a separate memory for video param... |
