You have got a ground loop. You can get a ground isolation transformer for Radio Shack for cheap or a better made but not necessarily more effective one from Mondial (called Magic) or from Audioadvisors (made by MIT). Our you can try a cheater plu...
Original Packaging, you gotta have it.
As I was walking out of my house to help the UPS guy with a TT, I watched in horror as the box, sealed with FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE tape (2" red letters) and hand marked "DO NOT TUMBLE) right next to the address, tumble it down the length of the ...

You think the audio boxes take up room, try the box from my Loewe 32" 16:9 TV! The key is to break the big boxes down, then tape like mad if you need to reship. Also keep the styrofoam. The TV was shipped from Colorado, I think by BAX. The shipper...

I would heartily recommend the NADs or Rotels. For NAD you may want to try YAWA. They are an authorized dealer in CA (often have stock listed here,if not run a search for their web site. They have new, B-stock, and factory refurbs, and have given ...

It doesn't matter what we think, what do you think?
at home has unplugged its network
Sorry (pissed is more accurate, but still not quite correct, if you catch my drift) to report that CT @home has been off-line when I got back home on Sunday night. Lost out on a good buy on a MUSE Model 2 a a result. I can be reached at my tempora...
Who R U?
Hi there Frank.
Should Speakers come first in a gradual upgrade?
If you are happy with the overall sound quality of your speakers, I would go with a better source or DAC. As I have upgraded my source and electronics, my relatively modest speakers (Vandy 2ci) have sounded better and better.
Best speakers for 2000-USED
Danheather has nailed it. Vandys are the most forgiving of the bunch. You should be able to get 3As for about 1.5K leaving .5K for good, biwires. The 3Asigs will almost undoubtedly cost you more than $2K.
What is the name of your system.
