Is your image centred?
Since I've set up my table with the Mint, I have very centered imaging. I have been in the live recording studio, and attest that singers are in a booth. Their performance is carried on an individual track and in the mix, is positioned in the cent...
A Perennial Debate For Which I Seek Help
I talked to Richard Vandrsteen about this wire issue. He uses specific wire for specific applications. A particular wire to connect the crossover to the tweeter as an example has different properties than the wire from the crossover to the midrang...
Quality Cheater plug??
I had a similar problem regarding hum with my setup. I went from a dead quiet house to a problem when I moved here to Arizona with the left speaker humming. My speakers have amps in them. When I talked to Richard Vandersteen, he advised me to run ...
Interconnect cable upgrade disapointment
Cables are OH SO system dependent, you always want to try out the cable before buying it. Also... if these cables have those batteries as some Audioquest cables do, they are always broken in. When I auditioned cables for my system, Audioquest did ...
Next step after B&W 802D
..mmmboy...those Cardas cables were awful in my system... You might try others see see if you like others better.
Removing the ground on PC?
I don't recommend using one of those 99 cent adapters...they ruin the sound. I would disconnect the ground from the outlet as ozzy suggested,
good isolation shelf for rega planar 2
I use inverted cones with my Rega 25. The wide part is on the table top with the points facing up. I use 3 cones and position them in the wood surround from below. Works very well.

Anyone setting up a tonearm should think about getting the Mint. I haven't used the Feikert, however, I have such confidence in the Mint, I surely would recommend its use.

I'd save the money..but then again, I am not a BW fan
Power cords and soundstage
My accrolink/046 combination continues to improve. There is just more going on...I hear background parts in arrangements that I never noticed before. I ordered more of the same to prepare a cord for my preamp. If there is this much improvement wit...
The focus and air lie
I go to lots of concerts both classical, rock, popular, etc. In all types of concerts except for classical, the sound is amplified, and comes at the audience from many directions, and therefore that magic that we call air is not available except f...
Cable question
I have found that excessive shielding closes in the sound. If you need it - fine, however, if you don't do without it. Try both ways and enjoy the results
recommend excellent balance XLR cable for me plz?
don't laugh...anti-cables. View another thread regarding these.
Speaker cable length
I think these are too long. I put my power amp between the 2 speakers and run a 6 feet length of speaker wire to the speakers. The interconnect from my preamp to amp is about 16 feet...works fine. In any case, I would have equal lengths of wire fo...
XLR vs. Phono Cables
As I said in my post above..if your preamp/line stage is better at XLR then the preferred termination would be blanced...if and only if you're terminus/arm is balanced. If you have RCA's at the end of your turntable, use RCA's into the preamp. Won...
