Thiel 7.2 vs Hales T-8 opinion needed
The Ariel is darn good.. If you want to experiment, try new power cords, etc. before spending big bucks on new speakers. Yes new speakers will be different, but I doubt if they'll be better. What don't you like about your speakers now. Remember th...
Alternative to VPI motor for Aries 3?
something is very wrong. Call VPI for an assessment. I have the motor which is DEAD quiet on my Superscout.
Switch to silver for a treble boost?
I found that the inclusion of excellent power cables really opened up my system
Need Help on Phono Cable
I'm using Anti-Cables with great success. You can try them with a money-back guarantee. I had Paul put extra shielding on mine, but found that I didn't need it, and use the standard version.
Difference between the VPI Aries 2 & Scoutmaster?
I thought that the Aries series can use a longer arm..sorry. My Superscoutmaster has the rim drive, heavy platter, and feet. If you have a dual motor, do consider the rim drive..it makes quite a difference...the heavy platter is also worth it. The...
Power cords and soundstage
Tvad...if you think that Oxaide Tunami is so good, try their P-4030 with the 046 plugs on each end. Jawdropping..
Difference between the VPI Aries 2 & Scoutmaster?
I have a Superscoutmaster/10.5i and second Stevecham's remarks. The Aries is a bigger table and can accomodate 12 inch arms.

Help with uninspiring sound with my turntable.
That is a very common problem...and one should always remember to keep the amp and preamp far from each other.
Which Cartridge for Music Hall mmf 5.1 se?
I had a Grado Sonata and it had issues. I used it on a Rega P25 with lots of mods. Anyway, it hummed slightly - I understand there is a mod for that...and it may not do it on your table...also, it has a reputation for not tracking well in some arm...
turntable distortion
I suspect static electricity and not the cartridge. Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the record or a zerostat, etc.
Bi-amping
I suggest getting a different amp without putting money in your current one.
VPI - Mini Feet
The worth of the mini-feet has to be your decision. The improvement in sound is minimal, however, the ease for leveling the table is increased. When the cones are unscrewed for leveling, they get increasingly unstable, whereas the minifeet retain ...
Cartridge Left Channel Dead
I agree. Check the cables and tonearm connections first. Unplug the cables, then replug them in again. I gather that the CD section of your system is running well??
Next step after B&W 802D
Give a listen to the Vandersteen 5A's. They are easier to drive, can be tuned to your room, and sounds much better.
