Thiel CS3.6 with issues: take the chance?
even if Thiel will do it, you have to ship the speakers there....not cheap.
Adding a SACD player
Doggiehowser...I have an Ayre C5xemp....sometimes the SACD is better, but not often. Redbook CD's are sometimes surprisingly good

Earphones or move. Actually, you can get better sound from good earphones/dedicated amp than speakers anyway.
Any Sota Sapphire experts out there?
I had a Sota and unfortunately I too had a SME V on it. The arm is just too heavy for that turntable...the springs/lead shot, just won't accommodate it. You might get in touch with SOTA and see if they have upgraded their springs since I had mine,...
Upgrade Tonearm for VPI Aries 3
Maxh....I couldn't agree with you less. It just sounds like you don't know how to set up the arm. The 3D is so stable when set correctly, that it feels like it's gimbaled...no shake, at all. The cartridge finds the record groove and is locked in p...

I suspect you need a new part....call VPI and you'll get it...an easy install
Upgrade Tonearm for VPI Aries 3
Abill..If you do decide on a VPI arm, I strongly recommend the Discovery over the Nordost wires .....

Omsed...I might have missed an arm or two, but I have either owned or have been very familiar with most arms that are mentioned on these pages...yes, the highly regarded ones. Sure...going from a Webcor arm to a Graham arm brings more to the table...
Best Tannoys for mid-field listening?
Bob...make sure your flu is closed on the fireplace...all your bass can be exiting that way. Also, make sure that any glass is covered - especially on the left and right hand sides facing the speaker. It surely sounds like a room problem to me.

Matmiller....boo to you
What benefits to expect from tonearm upgrade
I found that tonearm improvement - even with the very best arms are not dramatic...better tracking, cleaner, clearer presentation, etc.. differences that will make you smile, not jump for joy.
