I agree with the other posters, your cables are a good match to these speakers.You may want to look at upgrading the amp, IMO.

IC wire connections
Cold welded high pressure crimping is the best connection IMO since it literally joining the two metals together. ECA's might have poor sonics due to the compound material. Even solder can have these issues.

Cable construction and specs are different for digital cables, XLR plugs the same. You can try an XLR interconnect. It may cause additional jitter by IME it usually works OK, 
Help experienced audiophiles
If you want the smoothest sound with a broad range of music try copper cables. I have Cardas Clear and for less money Cabledyne Reference. 
Attention Esoteric CD/SACD Players Owners
Not a fan of cables with networks since they tend to blunt the sonics, IMO. You also need not spend large coin on cables either. You may have to try a few different cables to see if it will make an improvement.
