Zendo Cables by Mundorf?
The Pure Note Designers Edition uses the Mundorf wire which is excellent. Phusis findings agree with my own that this wire is very good but expensive.
What Cables should I try?
How much do you want to spend?
Review: Pure Note Alluvian Interconnect
I find your review to match my listening experiences of the lower cost Alluvion cables. The solution is the Designers Edition which comes closer to perfection but at a far greater cost. However, the demo cables TRS Audio has been offering of late ...
At what distance are balanced XLR cables needed?
IME, more than 15ft.
Pure Note Designers Edition
Worth trying these cables now. Some very good demo deals on the TRS site. http://www.trsaudio.com/specials.htm
Pure Note Designers Edition
The Epsilons are a very old Pure Note cable and were fast but lean. The Designers are completely different and are full bodied. There is no edge or grit. Rumor has it a review is in the works but no other info. I know of other folks that own these...
Kimber KS 3035 vs Nordost Valhalla speaker cables
I prefer the Valhalla. It may be a bit thinner in body and drier in the highs but imaging is much sharper than the Kimbers.
Advantages of bi-wire?
Depends on the speaker. I have done both single and biwire. In the biwire runs I usually use a smaller gauge wire for the HF. It also depends on the speaker cable and its ability to accurately portray the HF range. If this is the case, I use jumpers.
Pure Note Designers Edition
It does not matter what anyone says about how a cable will sound in their system. It is just a matter of opinion. The Designers are excellent in my system but how they will sound in yours can only be revealed by trial.I have compared the Designers...
WBT 0600 vs WBT0644
Both are fine but the 0600 is a top line plug. Depends on the quality of your posts. If your posts are generic (typically gold/nickel/brass), the 0644 is good enough.
Pure Note Alluvion speaker cables
Hey Bander, I see you are selling your Pure Note Titaniums. What are you upgrading to?
Pure Note Alluvion speaker cables
I have never found the Alluvion speaker cables to be bright. They are typically neutral and reveal defects in gear and recordings. This looks like what you have discovered. Also Pure Note is now sold through TRS Audio. Their prices have come down a...
Discovery cables....
Joe's cables are the first I owned in 1995. He must be doing something right.
Best budget $300 Balanced IC Recommendation
Pure Note Alluvion is a fine cable in $300 range. Neutrik pro-grade connectors, silver-palladium wire, and noise free carbon sheath. I have used them with my BAT amp/preamp with good results. Worth checking out.http://www.trsaudio.com
Are there any constants in speaker wire designs?
Seems like it would matter but all the cables I have auditioned over the years sound different. Lots of theories and of course it depends on your gear and what you 'think' you are hearing.
