Speaker Cable and Interconnects under $1000
I have Morrow, Audio Art, and Cabledyne in my system plus a few Cardas interconnects. Check those sites for pricing.
Glass v.s. Plastic Toslink
Glass in my tests. Toslink is a joke IMO, too bad AT&T ST interfaces are gone.
Recommendations for 5k upgrade
For PC consider the Cabledyne coppers. I replaced my entire HT with these and they are very good not only for audio but video. For $140-$200 they are the real deal. I plan to write a review soon.
Power Cords - Just Say Yes
Power cords indeed DO make an improvement in every component in my system. You also do not need to spend megabucks for a great cord.
tube gear vs solid state...cable effectiveness
I can hear more cables differences on tube gear than SS. My 300B amp reveals sonic differences with just about any PC, interconnect, or speaker cables.
Pangea AC-9SE vs AC-9
I own the AC-9 and is a great cord for the price. A friend has the the SE and it indeed is stiffer but may sound better depending on the component.
Power cord recommendation for DAC
I have finished auditioning the Cabledyne power cord mentioned in this forum and it is quite exceptional. Worthy of your consideration if you are still looking.
Cabledyne - cable bargain of the century
I now have the Cabledyne PC on my Woo DAC, about 40 hours. It has opened up the soundstage where now there is no more haze. The other cords I am using are Audioquest NRG-5 and Synergistic Research Tesla T3SE and The Cabledyne is the clear winner. ...
Cabledyne - cable bargain of the century
So you are saying that a $200 cord trumps a $1600 cord? A giant killer perhaps? The Cabledyne 1m cord is only $140 so for shitz and giggles I may have to try it out. If anything I could use it in my HT system which has those cheap vinyl cords.
Cardas Clear vs Furutech Lineflux
I own both (ics) and the Clear is "clearer." Less bloat and better focus. YMMV.
Sonic Diff between a 6' 1.8M & 4' 1.25M PC
Not much, IMO. Shorter is usually cheaper and better.
Warm, lush and smooth interconnect help
Cardas is lush and warm. Worth a listen...
new Triode Wire Labs rave review at StereoTimes
Dalig: Valid points. Any review must be discounted, IMO.
So how does this apply to speaker cables?
Poor George just can't get a break. IME, Cardas cables have always sounded warm and phasey. No doubt due to the multi-conductors and high cap. Still, many purists love them.
Interconnect conundrum
Red Dawn at the phono,IMO. Like others have said, swap to see what sounds best.
