I NEED AN AMP!! BUT WHAT?? HELP PLEASE!!
As per your prior post you'll likely be getting new speakers within a year and you'll want to match those with an amp that sounds and works best with them, so my advice is to buy a decent used amp with good resale value now so you can potentially ...
proac d25 vs totem Mani 2
I’d give the Silverline Preludes consideration in your price range new. Not too hard to drive so will give you a wide selection of amps. Imaging and soundstaging are excellent and should work very well with the types of music you listen to. Best o...
Acoustic Zen, Reference 3A and ATC
I don't think any of these speakers are particularly colored in the midrange and all are great in their own way.  But there will be differences in how they present the mids and the overall sonic picture.  If you're into soundstaging and, in partic...
Standmount speakers 4k-8k
Not sure if you have a Joseph Audio dealer near you, but the Pulsars would certainly be worth an audition.  Best of luck in your search.
Inexpensive speaker cables
I'd highly recommend a used pair of Acoustic Zen Satoris.  They are great all around cables, and if they don't work out you can turn around and sell them at little or no loss.  I've also found they pair well with B&W speakers.  Best of luck.
Corner loading/left louder ?
If you can I'd pull the speakers another foot or even another two feet into the room if you haven't already done so and see what happens.  It might help and you may find an improvement in imaging and soundstaging although probably at the expense o...
Monitor Audio
I am intrigued by the Minuets. Almost double the cost of the Bronzes. My guess is I'll keep them for a while, realize the amp deserves better. Sell at a loss and do it all over again! Not sure why you'd guess that, and I'd strongly disagree that th...
Monitor Audio
I'd highly recommend the Silverline Minuets.  Heard the original version powered by relatively cheap electronics at a NY audio show and they blew me (and many others) away.  Best of luck.
Recos for entry level Bookshelf speaker $400-750 for 21yo nieces first system?
For a 21yo girl I'd get the Audioengine HD6 and be done with it.  Includes built-in class A/B amps, DAC, Bluetooth receiver, analog input/output, and a remote.  Finishes are beautiful as opposed to most other competitors in this category, which I'...
Test CD for positioning speakers and subwoofer
Lots of good suggestions above.  If you still can't get things dialed in completely to your satisfaction, or maybe even if you can, I'd recommend finding a way to demo something like the DSpeaker Anti-Mode Dual Core room correction device.  It may...
Help, my system sounds lifeless!
First, welcome to the splendor of the Garden State!  Things must be real bad in the UK.  Heh heh.  Anyway, try hanging a blanket over your TV.  All the reflections bouncing off that can mess with your imaging.  Been there.  Also, if you haven't al...
Revel salon 2 vs vandersteen 5a carbons
Obviously both great speakers and will, as usual especially at this level, be a matter of personal preference, system synergy, and room interaction.  I've not heard either but did hear the original 5a well set up at a dealer for an extended demo w...
Honing down the speaker shortlist ~$5K
I'd wait for a pair of used Joseph Audio Pulsars or go listen to the Prisms if you have a JA dealer within reach.  I'd think either would nicely check all your boxes.  Best of luck.
help me with a DAC decision please
There's a Bel Canto DAC 3.5VB for sale here now with the VBS power supply in your price range.  I had the DAC 3VB in my system and it was outstanding (the VBS power supply makes a huge improvement over non-VB version -- I compared both in my syste...
Please help ...integrated amp under $1200
Another vote for choosing your speakers before deciding on an amp.  Do it the other way around at your own risk.
