I have ears and a soul--that's how I got sucked into this hobby.Tim
Monitor Speaker for CJ MV-55 - Need your advice
I like the ProAcs too, but at the top of my list would be Silverline and Coincident Technology, as both are excellent and are about as tube friendly as you can get. I've also really enjoyed the Legend monitors at shows. Best of luck.Tim
TacT RCS 2.0 Question???
I'm with kr4. I'd wait until 1)there is a digital out on SACD players and 2)TacT comes up with the software to handle the processing. What's the point of taking a hi-rez format and converting it back to redbook(or whatever bit/sampling rate the Ta...
Recommended integrated for B&W 802?
I know two dealers who found that the Primare integrated really synergized with B&W. Primare is relatively new to the U.S. but their stuff is solidly built, looks great, and offers excellent value. Don't know if it has a phono section though. ...
good silver IC's to audition?
I'm currently using the Acoustic Zen Silver Matrix from my DAC to preamp and the Matrix Reference from the preamp to amp. I find this combo provides the fullness in the mids that is a strength of copper while also preserving the detail, air, trans...
McCormack RLD-1 vs Rogue Audio 66 vs TLC-1 deluxe
Sounds like you're having the classic tube vs. solid state debate with yourself. Obviously the best answer is to demo both in your system if at all possible, then you'll know for sure given your equipment, room, and tastes. That said, in my experi...
Warmest? BAT VK200, Classe CA200, Mccormack .5
I've got a McCormack DNA-0.5 Rev. A and I would categorize it as incredibly neutral. If the material is warm and lush it comes through that way and if it's etched and bright you get that too. Given that, I'm not sure it would provide you with what...
Using very bright and very dull CD's to test the extremes.
I'm generally in agreement with Charlie, but if you're looking for a bright recording check out Gaucho by Steely Dan, especially the title track--absolutely painful.Tim

McCormack TLC-1 Versus Active Tube or Solid State
You may also want to check out Placette--quite a following on this site so you might run a search here to learn more. Best of luck.Tim
5 ch amp decision- opinions please
If music is important I'd find a stereo amp that works best with the ProAc 1.5s and then buy a decent 3-channel amp for the center/surrounds. This way you get the best possible amplification where it's needed most(has its own power supply, not aff...
What would you do??
After fixing your speakers you might consider scenting the area around your speakers with some sort of citrus scent(cats detest citrus--ever let a cat smell an orange?). Pet stores sell this type of thing in a spray bottle that you might want to s...
Help with decision...New CDP or add DAC to DVD?
I know people who are familiar with both the MSB and Art, and they were comparing the Art to the Perpetual Tech P3--different sound obviously, but same general league. Not so for the base Link DAC. Go with the Art and save some cash.Tim
i need a beter interconnects to my systam
The Acoustic Zen Matrix Reference ICs are a must audition. They flesh out the midrange incredibly well, and this may fill your requirement for "body." You may also consider trying the Silver Reference between your CD and preamp and the Matrix Refe...
Copper v. Silver IC sound
In general I agree with your assessment of copper vs. silver, but it doesn't always hold. I've definately found that using silver between the source and preamp and copper between the preamp and amp preserves much of the detail and transparency of ...
