Looking for speaker recommendations that I can purchase on Amazon.com
Oh please, regale us with your all-knowing test.  This industry is rife with studies that tell us our hering is wrong, and I'm sure this one is irrefutable too.  I'm squirming with anticipation.

"I’m happy with the Yamaha P5000S."Yes, of course you are, because you’ve compared it to a Sony receiver. My 1985 NAD receiver would be a big improvement over what you have. The key question is this -- how does it sound relative to a truly refined...
Yet another Amp recommendation needed
I echo what auxinput said -- it really depends on what you're looking for and, I'll add, your budget.
HI-FI NEWBIE NEEDS HELP!
@willemj If measurements are that all-knowing and supersede our hearing ability, then why is there even a market for supertweeters?  Our ears remain the final arbiter.
HI-FI NEWBIE NEEDS HELP!
First, buy a used amp.  You'll get almost twice the value for your money.  There's a highly modified McCormack DNA-0.5 available here now well below your $2500 budget that will last forever and you'll never feel the need to apologize or upgrade.  ...
Which DAC from this list sounds best with my system: Atoll, Micromega, PS Audio, Simaudio?
There is a Metrum Pavane and Hex DAC for sale here now, and I'd think either would achieve your stated goals and in general be a huge improvement over your current DAC.  Best of luck.
Dynaudio vs Harbeth vs ProAc
What tube amp do you have?  Not sure how tube friendly any of these are, but I'm another vote for ProAc.  They image great and just sound very natural.  Another excellent option is the Joseph Audio Prism, and there's a pair for sale here now.  Bes...
5.1 Reciever
Yamaha AVRs seem to have a very good combination of sound quality and reliability (some brands have had their share of issues that seem to surface just out of warranty, so beware), so I think that's a very good place to start.  Best of luck.

"Personal Preferences: I am looking for non-fatiguing, warm, musical qualities. In another discussion topic here on this forum, @mtrot and I agreed about "smooth, sweet, soft, silky treble" and "shimmery, airy cymbals" as goals."Sorry, but I don't...
Upgrade bug - advice on amp or preamp upgrade from Ayre for Revel speakers?
Yeah, musician here too.  Nothing like when a system can recreate nuance, intent, subtle tonal shadings, etc., especially with jazz.  If I'm you, my first move is to try a class-A biased SS amp (Pass, Plinius, Clayton, etc.).  My experience is tha...
What's Next
Yeah you've got nice speakers.  What area of added detail are you looking for?  If it were me I might try experimenting with some cables/interconnects to see if that can give you that last bit of detail you're looking for.  Or maybe even try demoi...
EVS modded Gustard X20 DAC
Don't see Gustard DAC on the site anywhere.  What up?
"Best" mini-monitor?
Thanks for responding.  After reading your experience I'd reiterate a strong recommendation to try a pair of Joseph Audio Pulsars if at all possible.  Best of luck.
Dirac vs dspeaker room correction
I got to hear an A/B comparison many years ago in a TacT system where they played it back to back uncorrected and full-range corrected using the same music.  I forget the speakers they were using, but they were high-end, 3-way speakers.  If the ch...
Integrated CD transport/DAC with streaming capability
I'd also consider the Oppo 205 and then get it upgraded by someone like Electronic Visionary Systems (tweakaudio.com) to bring it to a much higher level.  Best of luck.
