Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
You should really give us an idea of what sound characteristics (i.e. tone, micro/macro dynamics, imaging, soundstage, bass, etc.) are most important to you, otherwise you're just going to get recommendations for what other people like.
Help me replace ancient speakers - or not
@sforrey -- remember you can also do a dual stack of (the clue) with their spacer between them, which I'd think would add greatly to scale and impact and you'd still be in budget with new -- not used -- speakers.  I think you may be able to get a ...
Best used integrated for under $5000
You might be able to get all your shopping done here.  There's a pair of Atrias here for $12k, and a Plinius Hiato integrated for $4500 (MSRP $11,500) that should match your sonic preferences pretty nicely.  No DAC though.  Thought I'd leave at le...
Help me replace ancient speakers - or not
Sounds like the perfect situation for Sjofn (the clue) speakers that are made to be positioned right near the rear wall.  I heard these at a show and frankly couldn't believe what I was hearing from these small bookshelf speakers.  Here's some rea...

I Need an XLR Digital Cable.
Here ya go.  I prefer this to my more expensive and well-regarded Stereovox digital cable, and I think John Atkinson used it as his reference for a while too.  40 bucks for 1m with free shipping. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6XL1XW/ref=twister_B0...
Should I even consider setting my rig up in this location at my new home?
I'd think you have a good shot at making that work with a little more toe in (if needed) and treating the first reflection points on the side walls.  Or, you may find in the new room the acoustics allow you to move your speakers a little closer to...
Best used speakers under $10000
When back in NY you might consider a trip to Philly to David Lewis Audio.  They have Rockport, ProAc, Joseph Audio, Verity Audio, and several other excellent speaker brands.  I'd give the Perspectives another shot if possible.
Floor-Standards to Monitors?
Too many variables to make a blanket statement here as @audiokinesis mentioned in his last paragraph, but I’ve also thought about this quite a bit myself and have a couple thoughts.  But to answer a couple of your questions, when audiophiles are f...
Small speakers for the kitchen - Sensitivity
Silverline Minuets are worth a look too and will work fine with your amp.
Help with advice for high end speaker cables for my system!
There's a pair of Satori shotgun biwire cables available here now that are the same as mine except they have banana connectors instead of spades.  To maybe somewhat address Al's comments, these cables are stated to have extremely low capacitance t...
Best used speakers under $10000
@mtrot -- Damn, not sure how I missed those Atrias that would definitely seem like a better fit here sizewise.  Nice catch.
The floor between and behind the speakers is too often neglected
Interesting.  Never thought to do that nor have I ever read anything about it.  But Duh!  Seems like common sense now.  Thanks.
Mad Scientist wires
@rx8man (Mazda reference perhaps?).  Can you share what other wires you compared MS to and how they were better?  Would help greatly for context.  Thanks!
Help with advice for high end speaker cables for my system!
HA!!!  I think I had the same old Monster Cable wires I bought back in the early 80s.  I upgraded to a shotgun biwire pair of Acoustic Zen Satori, and they did for my system exactly what you're looking for.  Are you biwiring, and what length do yo...
