ANY EXPERIANCE WITH PASS LABS AND MONTANA EPS2?
I have had several models of Montana speaker, culminating with the EPS2. I found them to sound better with tubes because they are not a demanding load, and also because - well I prefer tubes. In the end I found these speakers to be dynamic and effo...

Smognote,Lewm brings up a good point about Nottinghams. I have a Spacedeck that I will be listing on Audiogon that is in your price range. Do some research, it is a VERY good table.Shakey
Need advice on new TT, arm and cartridge.
Even though your budget is well above it's retail price, you would do well to consider the Well Tempered Amadeus. Shakey

Stretch your budget a little and get a Well Tempered Simplex. I think it's around 1995.00. You will be glad you did.Shakey

My first system was in 1967. I was five years old and it was a portable 45 rpm record player with built in speaker. The first record I ever played on it was "March of the Toy Soldiers" from the Nutcracker. It all spiraled out of control from there....
Tubes for your K&K Maxxed Out Phono?
Mine is not the maxed out version, perhaps you would call it Mark II. I have had it for about 8 yrs. now and still love it.I would say you still haven't broken it in yet. Wait until you get about 50-60 hours on it before you seriously tube shop.Sh...
SDS speed control
If your belt is slipping significantly; no amount of correction from the SDS will help.I would think something that severe would be immediately audible....Shakey
