Harbeth C7ES3 vs Spendor SP2/3R2
You may like the polypropylene driver retro FM radio 80’s sound. Mission first started the great trend in this tyoe woofer. Polypropylene can be a bit nasal because of low resonance ringing (rigid drivers) but Spendor and others found ways to cont...
Harbeth C7ES3 vs Spendor SP2/3R2
ATC have nice mid range and timbre (like Harbeth) but also give you great dynamics and high clean SPL with critically damped bass (tight) for rock.  However the 19 have limited bass extension as most two ways do. The MA Silver 8 are exceptional va...
Which would be better, the Paradigm Persona 3Fs or the Dynaudio Focus 60 XD speakers?
@mmeysarosh +1 Exactly my experience. Exotic diaphragms - especially rigid light weight metallic or ceramic ones are NOT the holy grail. I still prefer the internally damped sound of pulp paper and soft fabric woven material usually doped with a d...
Should high-end shops be "OBLIGATED" to advise about component matching for best sound?
The market has split up.Headphones and lifestyle or portable music devices.big box stores selling everything like Best Buy (Sears of home electronics)HT market with the main target being new home installs and partnership with builders car audio Bo...
Which would be better, the Paradigm Persona 3Fs or the Dynaudio Focus 60 XD speakers?
Improved crossovers through active designs are a big improvement especially in three ways. Diaphragm material is overrated and cannot make up for poor driver overall design, integration and motor quality
Is remastered mainly just less jitter?
The Small Faces Decca deluxe reissues have also been well remastered. I agree it is a crap shoot.
Best interconnect burn-in method
Fortunately, there is no logical reason for burn-in with cables. So your approach will be equally effective as any other. If you experience audible differences over time (drift in performance) then it would be best to have your active gear (amp, p...

@almarg Quote As an electrical engineer having extensive experience designing high speed digital, analog, A/D converter, and D/A converter circuits (not for audio), I don’t find the reported differences to be either surprising or mysterious. And I...
How often do you clean cables? And which types do you clean most often?
I have never cleaned cables. Brush my teeth twice a day though. And dust my broom as often as I can.
Best full range loudspeaker for the used price of 10 to 13,000 dollars
Best is relative - what kind of sound are you looking for?
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
Homage to Duke by Dave Grusin is a fantastic recording. BTW - since when did this thread become about Jazz recordings? Did I miss something in the way fuser’s logic is fused? Like the way fuser's think that extreme sensitivity to fuses and possibl...

@mac48025 "...a fuse CAN'T effect (affect) sonics? Why not? Doesn't AC quality do so? Don't quality power cords do so? Why not the spot where all that AC current is condensed into a frail wire designed to disintegrate upon too much amperage? If th...
Is remastered mainly just less jitter?
No. A remaster from analog tapes may have less jitter with a more modern A to D. However the main thing with a remaster is some adjustment of the sound of the original master by a mastering engineer. Modern technology can also work a bit of magic ...
