Hearing is believing?........power cables.......
It sure can make a difference. Such a pity that many audio electronics are so badly built that you need a band aid like this - but some cost only $100 and are a cheaper solution than upgrading the audio.
High mass vs Low Mass Turntables - Sound difference?
Heavier plinth and heavy platter is my preference. Lightweight should be for the tone arm.I never understood the advantage of a light plinth and platter except that it is cheaper to make and less shipping cost.

@jinjuku. That Ethernet packet noise might affect a badly designed DAC is not surprising. I recall early implementations of a USB in DACs also ran into problems (again badly designed equipment)It took over 15 years to develop asynchronous DACs tha...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
@audiolabyrinth "Seems like I’m collecting vintage turntable’s, I just obtained the pioneer pl-550 direct drive table, I already have the technics sl-1600mk2, can anyone tell me much about the pioneer?, at the moment, the technics seems to be in a...

@almarg Of course AM radio is affected by unshielded Ethernet wires. This quite normal observation does not mean that in corollary the Ethernet signal has all kinds of digital static from the radio. Digital signals are extremely robust and there a...

@almarg You start off with a euphemistic statement" I agree that sensitivity to ethernet cable differences is a manifestation of less than ideal behavior by the components that are involved."Come on. Seriously, there is NO advantage to making elec...

@almarg +1 I agree it is most likely the faulty poorly designed boutique equipment used by the evangelists here. Knowing what Jinjuku has stated technically about Ethernet (all that buffering of digital bits) then the ONLY conclusion is that "unin...

@jinjuku The silence of the evangelists in response to your $2000 challenge is absolutely deafening. Any rational person has to ask, "how real can these claimed audible effects be if the evangelists refuse to pocket easy money and dismiss the oppo...

Lignite-based power plants with Cat 6 work well. If you have harsh or glaring sound then it might be bituminous coal at the power station which burns with a white flame and needs cat 7 to sound smoother.
Recording Studio sound Vs. Audiophile system
I have not had the experience but at home I have used similar gear to the main monitors used by many studios/artists ...Doug Sax, Pink Floyd, Sting, Jack White, Mark Knopfler, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Diana Krall, Tom Petty, Telarc etc. Etc.I wou...

@jinjuku. But the golden eared gurus who review and advise the masses are able to hear the difference in the quality of the coal burning at the coal-fired electric power station from 50 miles away - so why not Ethernet cables?I suspect most of us ...

@jinjuku The OP just "knows" he is right and you are wrong. It has nothing to do with ears and everything to do with a closed mindset. I maintain it is faulty boutique equipment and incorrect setups that account for all the weird and amazing "audi...
Benchmark Dac3
XLR is always better than cheap crap RCA. However if you are lucky and using limited equipment (more gear = higher probability of ground loops) and short runs then RCA can sound just as good. I have both DAC1 and DAC2 from Benchmark. Just curious ...

@jinjuku Amazing to see that that those from the school of you can’t dismiss all manner of tin foil hat tweaks "unless you have actually tried them you can’t have an opinion" - apparently will not test their own assertions!!!Frankly it is laughabl...
