Hearing is believing?........power cables.......
@stfoth I have an early edition Daytona L series automatic with a Zenith movement. It still runs and is in perfect shape after 26 years of being worn on my wrist every day - my son will get this in about 24 years time when the watch is 50 years ol...
Hearing is believing?........power cables.......
@jmcgrogan2 Not trying to be ironic, my point was 100k in speakers and zero on power cord. Power cord does nothing for the sound for me - it is just jewelry like a Rolex does nothing to keep better time than a quartz watch. I prefer real jewelry a...
Hearing is believing?........power cables.......
I can speak to value of power cords from my perspective. About 100K invested in speakers. Zero spent on power cords. Can I afford a $6000 cable jewelry to go along with my Daytona Rolexes - sure I can very easily afford but that would be a total w...
MQA - What is your favorite content?
The Led Zeppelin Masters are the best I have heard from Led Zep!I agree with the sound quality being better than most CD. Whether this is MQA or just better Mastering is debatable, however, there is no denying that there are some absolutely fantas...

+1 randy11"Lack of a basic science education leads to worse things than wasting money on placebo cables, anti-vaxers for example"Yup. For example, the whole global warming scare has demonized CO2 from what it actually is - a totally harmless trace...
MQA according to new Stereophile "loudness button" and "tweaking EQ in presence region"
I would add that most of what Tidal offer in their Masters section sound absolutely excellent. I especially enjoy the Led Zeppelin deluxe edition remaster from around 2015. These are boosted in the presence region quite significantly compared to o...

@brianlucy +1 BrianluceyI have been playing and comparing Tidal Master to the closest thing I have in my collection. Not all masters are the same so the comparison was not easy but I found a couple quite quickly as I have a large collection.I hear...

MQA according to new Stereophile "loudness button" and "tweaking EQ in presence region"
+1 Jafant. I am slow to adopt new technology because of this artificial factor - no DSD or USB for me. I am using a PC optical Toslink out to a jitter resistant Benchmark DAC 2 - archaic approach but incredibly solid solid solid in performance. I ...

MQA according to new Stereophile "loudness button" and "tweaking EQ in presence region"
I have not heard MQA but it is predicated on the idea that you need all that high frequency sound above 48KHz to fully appreciate the music (even if you can’t hear it). We have had SACD and now DSD and I still find all these arguments for greater ...
can I use two center channel as a front speakers. with sub for sure
Yes you can - no problem.
Speaker phase observation and question?
Polarity should not make that much difference. Unless you go one speaker reversed polarity and the other normal. That said - you are deaf in one ear.  In those with full hearing the brain does a lot of processing using BOTH ears - perhaps you are ...
Richard Clark $10,000 Amplifier Challenge - Why Couldn't Anyone Pass this Test??
@almarg    +1 that is what I stated I even clarified that damping equates to  "(output impedance)"
Richard Clark $10,000 Amplifier Challenge - Why Couldn't Anyone Pass this Test??
@erik_squires   +1 the link you gave states this about Quad:"The second downside is that they are a difficult load for the amplifier to drive. They are highly reactive loads (primarily capacitive). Their impedance drops as the frequency increases....
